1996 Tamiya Honda Accord SIR

Having a Tamiya JACCS accord kit sitting around for quite a while, I have decided to do something interesting with it. I'm in the process of making it into a Japanese version Accord SIR, which involves putting a new front/rear bumper, new suspension and wheels. Since I have a damaged Aoshima Accord Wagon sitting around, I decided to butcher the necessary parts from the Aoshima to the Tamiya, and here's the results:

The color of choice will be light gun metal with a darkgrey interior (German grey probably). Any comments/suggestions?

interesting conversion, but you could have kept the mugen bumpers and made it into a street racer( sorry I just dont like stock imports). But it looks as though your doin a damn fine job, so keep up the good work!

 uhmmm... i'm doing that too, with my PIAA accord. dang!!! nwayz, keep us posted.:bigthumb: btw, did you use the chassis of the wagon? :

Opps... I guess great mind thinks alike, Ayala? Anyways, yep, I used the chassis and the interior from the wagon. Just need to shorten the chassis a bit and move the exhaust down a bit. Might get a metal exhaust for it later though. :)

As you can see I'm going for the stock look, I even kept the stock SIR wheels. If I can find better wheels for it I might change them out later, or maybe add a front lip to it or something... But in the meantime, I think these wheels look great. Let's see pictures of your car, Ayala

That's neat. The simple look really belies the amount of effort that probably went into the conversion.

Looks like you really made a stock car out of it. It looks great. BTW, that gunmetal paint, is it tamiya?

Wow, that is excellent. I love how people "reverse" modify it from a race car to a road car, instead of just buildling the race car, leaving off the decals, then calling it a "street legal conversion". Definitely think it's harder going the other way around..! Anyway, this is actually the second time I've seen the Accord reversed.. Here's the first:

Again, excellent!

EX-R, that is cool. I love them deep dish rims, they look so tasteful on that honda.

Hey EX-R, that's nice! Did you lower it? If you did, I'd love to see how ppl lower the more complicated suspension setups (ie. Not Fujimi). That's 3!

Which brings me to ask: why is it that the Accord was ONLY made in Wagon form in stock mode?? I mean, Aoshima made the last accord, and Fujimi is making the current one (aka TSX). Same deal with the Legacy (until recently when Fujimi figured they can mod their molds to make the B4). What's up with the Japanese and their wagons? I personally think the Accord wagons have pretty ugly rear ends...

Hey, what do you know! Before and after pictures after some modifications! Good job on the Accords, both of you.
