for anyone interested in hondata. i would just like to let you know if you want to shave some serious time of your 1/4 mile. the hondata es 200 gave me 37hp to the wheel dyno'd and shaved my time from 15.9 at 87 to 15.2 @ 94 om my civ hb w/98gsr engine. as well as full throttle shifting, launch controller and rev limiter also you can program your check engine light to work as a shift light.

there is a button that comes with hondata you can install in your dash or through your stearing wheel. if you push it once you can set your launch controller by reving your rpm up to where you would like to launch at and hold it there steady then tap the break and its set, then everytime you want to race, just hold the clutch down put it in first and give it full throttle and it wont pass the rpm youve selected. push the button 4 times and lets say you wanted to shift at 8200 you would rev up the rpm to half that (4100) then tap the break and your set. also if you ever decided to get nos there will be another button installed when you bress that just once it will do 2 things, it will re-tune your engine for nos and you can also program the hondata to spray for you, so you could set it like for example right as you shift to 2nd gear or 35mph or whatever. it will work on any honda engine auto or stick

Word of advice when you get nos think twice about zex. My friend has a zex kit and dyno'd his car out and his first run with a 75 shot with a full bottle with pressure at 900 put down 58 whp then the second run was 60 whp. My NX 75 shot gave 75 whp exactly as it claimed.

what does you timeslip look like just out of curiosity? I have seen heavier teg gsr's with i/h/e and clutch run quciker times.

I was thinking the same thing that doesnt seem right. You should be atleast in the high 13's range

He might live in a high alttitude area. Any engine will run slower at alttitude. A car at sea level that runs low 12's may only high 12's, low 13's, or even slower at a higher alttitude. The higher the slower.

Maybe he just doesn't have much strip experience, bad launching I guess. I wonder what his 60 ft times are.

ZEX's kit gives 75 to the crank, NX kit is designed to give 75 to the wheels.

If you already have Hondata why get a Zex kit? Hondata now offers nitrous controls. The program pulls timing and adds fuel for you. There are inputs as far as rmp on/off speed on, engine load, etc.. Very cool program that is a simple software patch if you have the S-series of Hondata. The patch is free from your Hondata Dealer.

Yep, I was about to say that. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think ZEX kits add fuel by bumping fuel pressure a pre-set amount, which is a pretty crude way to do things. You can make your own nitrous kit cheaper, all you need is a bottle (heater + blanket helps a TON) some lines for the nitrous, the solenoid(s) and a nozzle + jets, then set everything up with hondata to add the fuel.

I was just kidding. In response to your questiong, yeah, it's spooled but I have so much wheel spin that I lose time.

There is a switch to arm your system and when you hit the parameters that you have set in your chip the nitrous sprays and switches to a different fuel/ignition map. I've been running hondata nitrous controls for some time now. To the best of my knowledge there is no button that will modify nitrous input settings. Check out www.hondata.com.
