That is so wrong... I don't know if it is technically feasible (most likely not feasible), but that's like asking if you could put a Chevy LS1 into a Mustang. :eek7:

Anything is possible w/$$$

But honestly...that is a stupid swap...better off just getting a WRX or STi motor and doing that...than going w/an inline 6

yea ive decided to go with a diffrent engine. i would have to fabricate a new hood as the RB26 is about 4" to tall to fit in the compartment and i ran some calculations on where it would put my center of gravity and the turnover factor more than tripples. ive decided to go with the JZ33 SVX motor with a 1998 wrx transmission running the 3.38 differentials

The SVX motor...it was a crappy V6 IIRC...why not something turbocharged and better?

Just my 2 cents

actualy the SVX motor is a Flat 6(horozontaly opposed) which will help mostly in center of ballance of the car. running at 250hp with no turbos or mods. i plan to go tiwn turbo as the car allready comes with dual exaust it will be no trouble at all to configure this way. it came with a 4 speed automatic as the only option but the mounting setup is identical to all subaru transmission mounts before 1998 so going with the WRX or the STI 5 speed transmission is literaly a bold on modification.

and might i ask what you would consider the turbocharged better engine? i only ask not to spite you but to see what other members think so that if there is indeed a better option out there i can go with that instead.

Ok..my mistake on the Flat vs. V6...but it is only 250HP...and you are putting this into an Impreza...not necessailry a light car...the earlier ones w/the 2.5 liter engine were around 2800 lbs...now the Impreza weighes like 3200 lbs...so the SVX motor is not a great engine...it was a heavy car and auto given...but it still was not very inspiring...I wish it were true...the SVX looks wise is amazing...I like it...

But better engines...the WRX turbo motor or the WRX STi motor would be my choices...I mean w/227HP out of the flat/boxer 4 will whip that SVX motor anyday...not to mention that it will have more potential
