Blown engine?

Does anyone know exactly how to find out what failed when your engine is blown. What causes an engine to get blown and are there steps to trace it back to a specific thing that caused the engine to be blown? Also what causes an engine to get blown if it has been bombarded with nitrous? Does the metal just bend so much when it gets hot that is cant function anymore. Any info on this?

okay to do my best to not answer your question, The term blown, as far as engine failure, comes from a term to describe a break in the head-gasket seal.... as far as your question about nitrous, the rapid compressions changes associated with nitrous oxide, will definetly take a toll on the head-gasket...

As for the cause, tear down the engine and inspect it yourself, you will likely see the signs of an abused engine (i.e. damaged cylinder walls, burn piston rings.. ect.)
