Newbie Need Help!!

well i might be getting a used honda civic model 95-98
and i need a few questions answered

say i got a dx or lx which isn't vtec right?
could i put a vtec engine in? if so what would i need?

what are some good vtec engine that i'll be able to fit in my civic sedan??

The only models that have VTEC are the EX/Si/HX. The HX VTEC is for fuel economy not performance. You could swap any VTEC motor you want in there. B or D series meaning dual cam or single cam. You need Engine, tranny, ecu, mounts, wire harness, and axels.

god i hate newbies for 2 reasons. first off they think that teh vtec is teh god. and second becuse they dont read the FAQ and all the goodies at the top of the forum. third........wait a second i only said 2 reasons well there are more. read those at the top and until then STFU newbie

God I hate people who can't spell, for two reasons. First off they think that "teh" is a word. Second because they don't want to use their language properly.

Yeah, they annoy me too, but what annoys me even more, is when they use wanna be ghetto/internet talk and stupid abbreviations. Like this guy when he says thx and plz, its like dude, just type out the damn word. Its also pretty bad when to say my car, people say "mah car."

And yes i find most newbie extremely annoying. The ones that don't know a thing, and the ones that suprise us but then expect us to fill in the blanks regarding the stuff they don't know.

people that bring up old posts. especially newb's. Though us who have been around here for awhile know better. Or even the people that bother to read the rules of these boards, don't bring up old posts. If you don't like people saying things that don't matter (i.e. this reply), then leave, it's that simple. I think you're just mad that you got an email that said someone replied to your post and yet the answer wasn't what you were looking for. If i see someone ask a question that is just totally retarded, i have the right to express my opinion: :screwy: :disappoin :eek7: :loser: :frown: Look at your first two questions; both of those can be answered by browsing the forum and reading the Performance FAQ that some of the mods put at the top of the pages. Not everything can be found on these boards, but a lot of common questions like those can. I don't have a dx or lx, but i know by talking to someone that does, that you can put an ex head on the dx and obtain vtec. All you have to do is read.
