Garage Diorama Progress

Me, My Dad, and my Dads friend/workmate went to a wood working expo today where I picked up some new attachments for my dremel. I came home, put all the attachments in my Dremel case and thought, why don't I use them for something... So I thought Diorama.
I didn't end up actually using any of the new attachments but I might later on in the build of the diorama.

Anyway, I cut out 2 A4 size pieces of cardboard and used masking tape to stick them together. The floor is a square, so it is also A4, with a bit on one side, also cut out of cardboard. I sprayed the floor flat black, but didn't do the walls. I printed off some of the bricks frin Spoolin's diorama thread, stuck them on the walls and to my amazement (not really :tongue: ) I had a room.

I found some pictures on the internet, resized them and stuck them on the walls. The bench is a piece of wood with nails as legs. There is a red button that when pressed, turns on the (very dull, needs to be replaced with a brighter) light.

The car that is in the diorama at the moment is going to be built up as an unfinished project car. The paint job is like that (thick and not very well covered) because I am going to be sanding it back, through to the primer in some areas, to simulate a real project car. The wires on the engine are spark plug wires, but I am waiting for a pin vice (http://www.dxmarket.com/micromark/products/81651.html) to arrive that I ordered yesturday.

just as a note... Fujimi made a kit (it might be OP by now) that is called Gararge Tools. it has all kinds of tools from a car jack to arc welder to motor lift to etc... when i first saw this kit i bought 3 of them and have been using them since for dioramas. there are becoming more rare in the states and they also made a Garage but these are great kits to work with. all kinds of tools and even strut springs and shock.. BBC crates for rims... lots of fun for this type of thing.. check it out!

I want to get that garage tool kit, I have known about it for a while. If I find one I will be sure to pick it up.

The fujimi tool kit has been laying in the shelf of my LHS for ages when I decided to get it, the next month they put up another one.

Now that I am in another town, I see piles of them along with some other hard-to-locate kits in piles in another LHS

A bit of progress, started sanding the car (A revell 64 Fairlane BTW) and primered a couple of the panels, painted the underside black. I got some black paint, and blobed it in some areas to simulate oil stains :smile:

wow that is one cool dog, i want one, i love little dogs, i always had big ass alsations all my life, now i want one of them, what breed is it, will then have a 1/24 scale doggy, lol

Great progress with the diorama. :thumbsup: Those oil stains are a nice touch.
