GUESS I PICKED THE WRONG PLACE FOR CAR ART or AUTOMOTIVE APPRECIATION:

No worries ci5ic.... I will NOT be back.

Dear board:

Gone before I barely started. Your MODERATOR closed my thread.

Yes. I am new. But ONLY to this forum.

I sought out your forum for specific interests and I am a member of many other forums and NOT new to message boards. But, obviously MIKE did NOT like the fact that I brought news about someone important to this industry, and a member of THE FINE ARTS SOCIETY to your board. MIKE says my post is spam. If that's what he thinks... I am definitley in the wrong place. HEY MIKE... how many posts does it take to bring pertinent information to your board?

As someone who vigilantly fights spam, I don't think what I posted was spam or anything wrong.

I will take my post's elsewhere Mike.... I thought this would be a board that would appreciate WORLD CLASS AUTOMOTIVE ART. I guess, at least in your opinion, I am wrong.

BUT..... not in the opinion of CAR AND DRIVER, AUTO WEEK, and LIFE STYLES of THE RICH & FAMOUS among others. Mr. Cleworth had agreed to visit this forum. This may now be impossible.

BECAUSE OF MIKE.... I will not be back unless invited.

I know that MIKE's views do NOT represent those of other board members. Best wishes to all of you. VROOOOMMMMMM!

Cheers to all of you who visit this thread. I'll go back to my 3,500 posts on other boards. Cheers. I'll find the boards where Mr Cleworth's work, and MY post's, will be better appreciated.

---Rand

Whoa there, he only posted a warning because you posting a topic in sketches and drawing and graphic manipulation. They both said the exact same thing, that technically is consider'd spam. You only need to post it once, we will all see it. I check all the parts of the forums, so i'll see it no matter where you post it. Keep on posting, just keep it in here, and when you post in graphic manipulation and sketch, make sure your showing at least 1 picture.

You were in the right for posting the 1 topic here about your website, because this is the place for you to show off your talent, which you have a lot of. But posting the exact same thing in graphic manipulation was not called for, people will see it, just sit it out in this place.

Anyway, I hope you'll stick around and show off more of those very impressive drawings, and sorry if all things got off on the wrong foot, it was a bad case of miscommunication.

Welp,

I read your posts they sounded like advertisement to me. You should have just posted, 'Hey check this guys art out.'

Your friend has awesome tallent.

And I seriously doubt your friend has time to particapate in forums, considering his work and clientel. So what if he visits this site or not, I doubt he can offer anything, due to time.

The website is very nice and cool. I have never heard his name, not that I am some expert in automotive art. I am familar with Thom Taylor and Mike Turner.

Oh, the guy who shut your thread is a Moderator but not a sketching and drawing moderator we do not have one. You said you fight antispam on other forums, well did you read the automotive forums rules? It doesn't matter what you do at other forums we may have different rules here.

And finally let me ask you, are you an artist?

Take care

al

PS: Let me know if your friend writes a book, because I would buy it and read.

I have just one problem with the site, I didn't see where Mr. Cleworth mentions the type of medium he uses.

Thx al

Thank you Omicron, Dr. AK, and asaenz.

Being someone who posts to about 20 other message boards, and am usually invited to them, I didn't know which forum to post in on this board. When I picked S&G I thought it would be the right place but I wasn't sure and by looking at thread counts, I thought the GrMa thread would be the most active. Look at todays's stats.

Anyway, if I stepped over some rule that I didn't catch somewhere or got some sort of newbie hazing I guess that's just the way it will have to be. Didn't mean to do it.

Harold is the artist, not me. I'm a photographer and ecommerce guy. I just wanted to help Harold get the word out about his site. He's not much of an Internet guru, he's a painter. I spoke to him about visiting this site not as a regular poster (he types way to slow) but to perhaps make a visit at some specific time if there was enough interest to warrant such a thing.

If anyone thinks that may be something of interest, post here and I'll really that to Mr. Cleworth.

Thanks again for your posts. I can be a little reactive sometimes.

Dude, don't worry about it. All you did was make a little mistake, we're not gonna kill you for it. Even though it probably would have been a little better off in the Graphic Manipulation forum, most of the people from there visit the S&D forum too. Anyway, don't worry about it.

How long does it take to make a painting look that good and realistic? It really looks like a photograph of the real car.

I appologize too, I think my reply sounded a bit rude.

Hey the reason why I said I don't think Mr. Cleworth could help is because I have tried to contact other professionals to see if they wanted to participate in this here forum but they gave me the cold shoulder.

What type of paint does he used?

I am working on building my own art biz. focusing on auto art. I won't be going for the 'as reall' look like like your friend. My style will probably be graphite renderings and semi-reall gouache/water color renderings.

Thx

Thanks Integra06 and Asaenz,

I have forwarded this thread to Harold and will get some answers for you. He might be able to join in on the forum once in a while.

I will be in Hollywood Florida for the next several days so I won't be on the boards for a while. Thanks to you guys on this thread for making me feel welcome. I'll stop in again soon with some answers for you from Harold, or, will see if Harold can join in himself.
