We need a Merkur thread :) But anyways, here's my problem...

Ok here's how it goes. I have a Merkur XR4TI, an 85, and my husband has just replaced the water pump and timing belt. It ran fine yesterday, but today, the day the buyer is supposed to pick it up, it wont start at all. The engine turns over, but nothing beyond that.
We've checked the fuel delivery, the plugs, distributor, coil, and timing. Everything is fine, but obviously the car isn't :confused: Please, someone tell me what else to look for! We're out of ideas here! We've been working on this since 2am! Haven't slept at all! :bloated:

Merkur was a US-only brand name used to market Ford of Europe models including the Ford Sierra (Merkur XR4Ti) and Ford Granada/Scorpio (Merkur Scorpio). It lasted from 1985 to 1990.

I have an 87 merkur, and I am rebuilding it. Does anyone know where to get parts for it? I dont really need parts for the engine I need them for the interior and body. Please help!!
