I've never driven a BMW 325 conv. but it has gotten great reviews but my parents have a 9-5 sedan and if the conv. is anything like the sedan, IT IS A WINNER! Either the BMW or the Sabb for me :) .

The Solara is in a lower competition, ie. Chrysler Sebring conv., Mitsubishi Eclipse...
The 9-3 convertible itīs pretty nice, so is the 3 series, but for SAFETY, luxury, and a bit more of everything I would stay definitively with the 3 series convertible.

What 9-5 Concertible? If Saab makes a 9-5 convertible it is news to me. And welcome at that. I am considering 3 Saabs as replacements for the 900S conv I gave up Aug 1. The 9-5 Aero, 9-3 sport sedan and the 9-3 conv. I would easily add the 9-5 conv to that list. I am not a big fan of the BMWs for 2 reasons. The seats are the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on for a long trip. (hard as nails) and I don't like the fact that your paying a premium for the car. It is otherwise a fine automobile, but the new Saabs compete very well and most of America hasn't figuered that out yet. :-) I am currently awaiting delivery of a 350Z, ordered 5/2, but if I decide against the Z I will seriously consider one of the Saabs. My wife drives a 9-5 sedan and it is a great car, but I will go out of my mind if I don't get my hands on a manual tranny real soon.

thats what happens to my dad...he will drive my truck (its not "mine" for another 240 days" and its a standard..and he will drive it for a week and then go to his van...and he always looks for the stick its wicked funny watching him trying to shift as he presses the brake where the clutch could be...lol
keepin it saab style would be cool i would think
i think the only bimmer id take over a saab would be the new Z4 or the 7 series...

Yea, my old man drives a 9-5.
I'd say considering kick for your buck, the Solara is a winner, closely behind the 9-5
