Rear brakes?

I have a 1994 escort wagon. I'm lazy and don't want to take off my rear wheel to find out if I have rear disk or drum brakes. Is this possible (and how can I tell)? Thanks.

it's most likely disc, if you have steel wheels with hubcaps just look through the rim, or crawl around and look from the back....I'm still betting it's drum though.

I believe that only the Escort GT has front and rear rotors; all of the other have front rotors and rear drums.

What the hell does it matter, if your to freakin' lazy to even get your dead ass off the couch to find out, your not gonna fix anything, just take it to the garage and let them fix it. And if you don't know a drum from a disc, then I wouldn't worry your fancy little brain about it. just bust out your checkbook, and let someone else worry about it.

Dude, he obviously doesn't know how, or else he wouldn't be asking. He asked if we could tell him how to do it, so he obviously is willing to do it himself. Go take a chill pill and stay off the caffeine.
In answer to the question, I think it most likely has drum brakes, but you can pretty much tell by looking through the wheel. Look at the front ones first. They're most likely disc. You'll be able to see the rotor with the caliper over it. Then look at the back. If it looks the same, then it's disc, if not, drums. But most likely I'll bet it's drum.

Old thread, I'm sure the job had been done hundreds, if not thousands of miles ago.
