actually most car companies have some sort of Varible valve timing..

GM-Ecuteck
Toyota-VVT-i
Acura/honda Vtec & I-Vtec
Ford-Zetec

the Subaru STi comes with it,
Saab
BMW
Mercedes

I can go on and on, but you get the point.

porsche introduced VTC into their linub in 1996 i believe.

read it in a road and track.
could have been 1998, not sure.

anyways. like dayna said. so many companies have Vtec.

vtec is only "valve timing electronically controlled"

which is just about the same way of describing all the technologies the companies imbedd in their ecu program. the actual design of it is different, but the principles are all the same.

NSX was the first car with VTEC I believe, 300zx TT has VVT as well that I found out the other day about that engine. I think the S14 sr20 has it too, I could be wrong on that though.

S14, S15 motors had VTC.

The SR20VET has a more VTEC like system called NEO, which was used on the R34 RB26 and R34 RB25s.
