We got the offical call yesterday. Josh from Sport Compact Car said to "Bring It".
So we are preparing the car...... We should be looking at 600 + hp to the wheels , low 11 second quarter miles , 0-60 times in the 2 second range , lots of other good stuff....
The only thing I want them to change is them allowing Hoosier tires. The Hoosiers are DOT legal. They are great tires - but no one "ever" uses them on an actual street car. They would litterally last about 3 days of normal street driving.
They stick awesome at the track - hence the 1.04 G last time with Dannys R33. But I dont think they should be allowed.
I would rather see a real street tire. Otherwise we have no choice either - but to be on a Hoosier. Hoosier doesnt even advertise in Sport Compact Car , but I know that BFGoodrich , and Nitto do. By allowing Hoosiers they make a pretty good advertisement for Hoosier.
Wouldnt everyone rather see cars on real street tires ?

sweet i'm curious how you guys are gonna do....BTW did i understood right the car will be a R33?
is the car prepped to be a straight line performer or more for the track.....
About the tires i see your point....and yes it would be nice to see some street tires but as long as everyone has access to the same tires and nobody is disadvantaged I don't see too much of a problem.....

Much more for track. I believe Nick's first 1/4 run was with Sean last year (or was it this year?) but I could be wrong.

When Josh from Sport Compact Car called - I was under a 350Z installing Nismo headers. So I missed the call.
They just said to "bring it"
As far as what the car is setup for . It is setup as a One Lap of America car. It has to be driven 2000-3000 miles on the road - and run at race tracks everyday.
Mostly its a road race car. There are more events that cater to good "road race" performance than to straight line. There is 0-60 and 1/4 mile that will go for a drag car . But there is skidpad , braking , road course.
I am not going to say too much about the car right now - , but last time I ran the car on a real street tire - it ran a 11.1 @129 mph . Which if you look at last years results - would be #1
Last year it was hot - this year its later. But will probably still be a bit warm.
I have been at the last two USCC's . With Justins R33 - and Dannys R33. I drove both cars during the Gross Display of Horsepower.

ah, Sean, you using the hoosier's eh, nice:bigthumb: , well you know that my car is pretty stock and for the most part it's a street car, and as you know I use the hoosier's for strip/track(don't know why it could not be used as a street tire) i've raced all day at the track sometimes with them and i haven't had to come home with different tires, I certainly agree that they can't be driven on public road's, it's barely legal, borderline as you say(really don't know how they were ever DOT approved), but if it's just for this competition you might as well use them right?
good luck,
dave.
