Seeing as most of you do your own mods what tools do you have and what tools should someone who wants to do the same have.

Impact wrench, speed wrench, torque wrench, all the standard sockets, jacks and jack stands, screwdriver set with different standard bits.
Granted that is some standard stuff, but don't even plan on doing anything on a car without those.

Well seeing as how I don't have a car and my dad is a mechanic I have no real need to buy my own tools since he has everything imaginable that I can use for free.

A compressor is one of the best tools you can buy...it will power any pneumatic tools (much more convinient than charging a battery, also more power) and you can blow off the workbench, the garage floor, and even those hard-to-reach places you can't get ot with a chamois on the car:bigthumb:
And if you want the brand...Snap-On and Facom are both great manufacturers, although Facom is pretty expensive.

Never, EVER leave your house without a good set of screwdrivers, and at least one set of pliers, and an adjustable wrench. These are all for emergencies of course.
For non-emergencies, my buddy owns a shop I can use after hours:icon16:, with lift and everything.

Come on, you guys talk like air tools are necesities, man, air tools are icing on the cake. Hand tools are absolutley necessary, air tools are icing. Granted, there are some jobs that are very difficult (if not impossible) without air tools, but hand tools are the best investment.
Yeah, air tools are great things though.
