Went to a junkyard and saw a bunch of 90-91 accords with a "Sport" button on the automatic tranny shifter. What does this do, and is it possible to stick it on an automatic without the button?

I think it's just overdrive or something....my mom had a 92 accord with that...I don't know if the button was ever used though.

it just raises the shiftpoints

yeup allows it to stay in gear a little more...if a gear shifts at 3 normally it will go to 3.5

i wonder if there is a performance increase...it feels as though there is less power and more torque..though i never use it...only when im bored i tap it. if i want it to stay in gear more i just push the gas in =)/

Yes, well unfortunately, i drive an automatic. When you push the button, it lets it rev higher. But it is totally pointless, cuz if you floor it, the thing damn near redlines no matter what.

isn't that just the same as overdrive??

I thought overdrive was for freeway driving, like it saves gas?
