Engine Swap ????'s

MY FRIEND HAS A 1987 CRX SI & HE WANTS TO PUT A D16A1 MOTOR
IN IT FROM A 1989 INTEGRA.


1. WILL THE ENGINE BOLT-UP WITH NO MODS?

2. WILL THE COMPUTER WORK WITH HIS FACTORY WIRING?

I know about the 86-87 but i heard that the 89 should be the same.
the parts you have to change is the hubs,axles,shift linkage,clutch cable, throttle cable,emissions box,upper and lower radiator hoses, the stock integra exhaust manifold with the civic down pipe. and the ecu although theres a long list of changes the motor pretty much bolts right up. reply back and ill discuss more.

Could you be more specific?
Do the 87 integra axles fit on the crx 87 si hub?
What do you mean about the throttle cable, is it too short?
Emmissions boxes??? Do you mean the EDL module?
i have A JDM ZC (88) black top from integra with cut harness. Can my Zc harness
be connected(with a connector) to the 87 si model or is it just splicing some connectors from the zc to the 87 harness(like the dist. change).

its not the holy grale of swaps but it is the best bang for your buck with this era of honda


btw, there is no problem with pulling up and older thread but if you will notice the origional poster has not been active since 07-24-2003 so it is kinda useless

the swap can be done use the spindles and rotors from the integra and the axles including the center axle. the shift linkgage is a little long but will work without changing must use si ecu but d16 ecu gives you better performance motor mounts will all work from the d16 you might have to trim your hood support the dohc rubs the inside of the hood other that that it is a straight swap i have done four of them give me a post with more questions.
