Just when you thought the P12 was just a styling statement...
...the SR20VE is brought back to life in the newest Primera, trimline designation: 20V. Externally, the Japan-only high-revver has the same look as other Primeras, but under the hood sits a NEO-VVL 2.0L pushing 204 hp @ 7200 rpm channeled through a 6-speed gearbox. Great, the more production models make it with the SR-VEs, the higher the opportunity Statesiders can get their hands on 'em.

Nice! and its good to Nissan has finnaly caught up with Honda in making High powered mass produced production cars.
Now if only Honda could catch up to Nissans large engine and Turbo technology.
I wonder how long till we start seeing them over here? and how long till P-man is hiding an engine swap from his wife. :D

Well the SR20VE's been out for a while in the Primera. Not as long as the Honda VTEC but it's not really a new thing either. However the DET is a much better motor for a swap. :D I doubt well ever see a stock Nissan in North America since they have that new QR25DE now.

Yeah I still have a thing for the DETs. I remember seeing an NX in a magazine with a turbo SR20VE. Are there any factory SR20VETs? Ah well, hopefully the QR25DE is as easy to modify as the SR has been. Gotta love Nissan for breaking the mold and making larger displacement torquey engines, using small displacement engine technology. Best of both worlds, right?

I might be wrong, but I could have sworn that I read that there was such a thing as a SR20VET. Only available in Japan and only installed in some heavy SUV piece of junk.
If I recall correctly it was on the website of that VVL-turbo NX, although I don't have the URL to hand....
