01 dodge dakota problem

I have an 01 2.5l dakota sport when it takes turns it makes a poping noise in the rear i got out and shuck the bed and the sound is coming from the center of the wheel but when you jack the wheel up off the ground you can move the whole thing back and forth about two inches and it makes the same noise the truck only has 37000 miles on it someone please help.

Well well well....If its comming from the center of the wheel, it could just be unbalanced, ESPECIALLY if it's moving around ... I'm not sure though, this is just an idea ... My truck, a while back, had a blown rear right spring from a load and it caused a similar minus the wheel travel ...
Dunno might wanna check wit a mech though...

Yeah, take it in. Sounds like it could be a bad wheel bearing.

it is at the dealer now but one mech said it sounded like a u clip or supthing does that sound familliar:confused:

I've heard of U-turns, and U-haul...but...ummm...got me beat, although i beleive it's the clip that is near the bearings...yeah that sounds right (I have no idea)

evidntly it was a loose bolt or something the dodge dealership just tighted all of the bolts and wala no more noise thaks for all of your help
