One time me and 2 friends both driving 3rd gen Camaros were driving to home at 3am. We were doing 50 in a 35 but def not racing at all. A cop with a bad attitude pulled us all over. Not only did he give us speeding tickets but Drag Racing and Driving to endanger. Both were criminal offenses!
We got a lawyer got off but could of lost are licenses for up to a year. Jail time and shit load of fines. Driving to endaner was the worser of the 2

Yeah thats fucked up,
I think there should be more evidence necessary if someone is going to be charged with street racing.
(BTW, I'm not trying to start some cop bashing thing here)
It sucks that there are so many people who CANT DRIVE that are going way to fast in their vehicles or racing them ALL THE TIME. It's cause of them the people who can control their cars on the road can't speed ocassionaly or have a little fun.
LOL, I guess if I got pulled over on the 14 freeway by that cop, he'd bust me and 5000 other drivers for taking part in the same race then eh?
Hehehe.

Never been busted, never been pulled over... I dont street race but i do speed occassionally. Hopefully some a-hole cop doesnt mis-interpret me trying to pass some ass going slow and figure its racing. Stupid enacted law about racing being a felony, with that ill to go to jail and have my car impounded. Stupid shit, stupid Fast and the Furious with their trendy shits making it worst for people.
DggyStyl2987, You can send me the pic and i can try to shorten out for ya? Try to send me a PM with the pic.

I've only been pulled over once for drag racing. I was at a light with my friend Tim, who just got an 89(I think) Mustang LX with a 5.0
http://members.fortunecity.com/needforspeed440/pic_0977.JPG
He was revving up like he always does and I wasn't sure if I wanted to race him or not. The light turned green, he burned a bit and took off, so I did too. I beat him by more than a car length just as I saw blue and red flashing at the light we just left from . We only got to race for like 4 seconds, if even that. I got pulled over and he kept going lol. The cop was amazed that neither of us saw him, and I didn't get a ticket. I'd say it was worth it cuz it was my first race against my friend with his new car.... and I won

never been caught ... I dont participate in organised street racing, (car is too slow) just ocassional light to lights, or people messing with me on the freeway, i like how its random so there is less likely to be a cop.
I have been to a street race though that was busted up ... luckily i was smart enough to park near a park, and watch the race from atop a hill within the park and not on the street.

Yea, I rarely race at organized street races either. Like you said, WAAAYY too much potential for police "bustation" I go and watch a lot of them though.

I got a ticket in Longmont CO once. Pure BS. A stupid *** civic with an intake revved on me, and when he pulled away I noticed he had an automatic trans too. I eased away from the stoplight, and gradually went up to the speedlimit of 35 MPH. I was laughing, because I was only about a 1/2 car behind him, and was not EVEN accelerating.
Suddenly there was a cop behind me and another in front of me cutting across the intersection was another. The practically shoved us into a parking lot, damn near hitting my car, and yanked us both out of our cars and after about 30 minutes of BS gave us both tickets for racing. Of course they were jerks about it too.
I never went over the speedlimit, and if I was racing, my freshly built turbo DSM was losing to an automatic EX civic!
I plea bargained the ticket down to something else, and since I don't live in the state it never showed up on my driving record.
I felt sorry for the other guy, although I never figured out what happened to him. He was only 17, and his parents bought him the car, so I am betting he lost it. His GF was with him and she was crying too.
So, since I assume cops read this board I will post this:
If you are a cop, and you ever pull someone over, be honest and respectful. I treat each police encounter like I am dealing with an individual person, because I am. If you walk up to me and act aggressive, disrespectful and dishonest, why should I bother to be any different to you? The officer that approaches me sets the tone of the encounter. I have had far too many chats with police officers who abuse their power, and unfortunately you guys have a looooong way to go before you deserve any respect whatsoever as a group. I can count on one hand the times when a cop has been helpful or respectful, and that's just sad.
People hate you because you earned it...

ya kno i hate when people say that because I've known a good number of police officers and they were all nice and great people but it really is true. I have been treated COMPLETELY disrespectfully several times before. I remember once at my old high school it was homecoming night and me and some friends were just going to watch a movie. We went to the local grocery store to rent one and grab some snacks. The doritoes were just past the liquor isle so we walked down to get some. there was a cop there just walkin around and he watched our every move like a damn hawk. i noticed him so i got all my of my friends and we each walked down a different isle just to fuck with him. so my friend walks down one of the isles and comes out and im in the checkout line and the cop goes 'where's the perishables you had previously?!' my friend's like huh? the cops all trying to act like a bad motherfucker beling like 'two of you had big bags of perishable items (yes that's literally what he said, hence the reason I remember it) and now i only see one bag!' i was in like with the other bag so I say 'i've got it right here... damn, settle down. not everyones a criminal.' he gets real defensive and gets all up in my face and was bitching about how 'this is homecoming night' and 'we were walking down the liquor isle and we're way too young' and i bitched back about 'do you really think we'd be trying to get liquor from a GROCERY STORE in front of a COP?! when everyone else was out drinking... all we wanted was a movie. and he's all in my face and i explained everything to him and told him to back the fuck off before I charged him with harassment and he tells me to turn around and put my hands on the snickers bars and he fucking searched me then calls backup then searches my car and had me in sight at all times n shit and acted like a complete dick. I was in a bitchass mood cuz my girl had just dumped me and wasn't willing to be fucked with.
When he came up with nothing i took his badge number and told him i was charging him with harassment and search without a warrant because i technically never gave him permission, even though i gave him the keys. Then i got the stations number and shit. I was so heated because he had me there for over an hour and a half just trying to power trip.
I know I've seen cops actually helping people when their cars had flat tires and stuff but as usual, teh few bad people destroy the reputation of the good. It's the fact that they've been trained to act like that. it bothers me. If they just act halfway decent instead of completely demanding and controlling i know i personally would be more respectful. Instead they just come off as assholes.

Me and my friends raced in dothan alabama on the way back from Panama City one time. Word to the wise: don't even think about speeding in dothan alabama there are some serious cops down there.
Anyways so we were racing stoplight to stoplight just screwing around and i noticed that we just passed two cops on our left, oh shit! and i turned right at the next light. He turned left. We both got caught 2 more cops waiting for both of us. The rounded us up to the nearest grocery store parking lot and gave us an hour long talk about street racing in dothan. Nope wont ever do that again. By the way, no tickets or warnings. He just said dont do it in dothan, go somewhere else and do it.
I almost pissed my pants when i saw 6 cop cars with their lights on, i was sure i was going to get arrested. Damn i was lucky.

Something else that i think helped even though it was stupid, i was wearing the shirt my friend got me for my birthday, none other than the other driver in the incident, the shirt was one of those 'what you dont say to a cop when you get pulled over' deals. Pretty funny turn of events.... the cops thought it was funny and took the time to read each one.

I got pulled over a few weeks ago and got busted for racing a cheesy mustang. I almost got arrested but the cops let us go with 3point moving violations, I was happy with that until i found that I had the check returned to me and a notice to appear in court on monday the 12th. I am scared sh*t. I dont know what to do or say and cant afford a lawyer. Any advice???
