My 91 gsx is a good car. I have one problem with it it smokes when I sit at an idle. When I go it has no problems but when i sit at an idle for a couple of minutes it wants to start smoking this gross blue smoke. I have had people tell me the turbo is going out but if you could please help me it would be great we did a comrpession test and it turned just fine so I have no idea what is wrong.

Sounds like it could only be valve stem seals. A leaking turbo seal would smoke ALL the time , and especially under boost. The older cars like that , the valves stem seals get old and dry out and crack , especially on the exhaust side , where the valve stem temps can top 500 degrees or more......:bloated: Its a major pain to change them , since you have to remove the cams , valve springs and retainers , everything . I removed my head completely and pulled everything off , its just easier to do that way.

Yeah it definetly sounds like stem seals. When you first start it up in the morning, run behind and check it, it should be really bad

It is fine in the morning its just when I have been driving and stop at a light or if I warm it up and then get in and drive. It takes a couple of minuts for it to start smoking.

Might try routing your valve cover vent hose into a bottle. Its one of the first mods we do , and it could be the source of your problem. Oil can get into the intake from there , which would cause the smoking. Pull off the upper IC hose and see if theres a lot of oil in there. The PCV valve may be malfunctioning too. Theres a lot of reasons a car can smoke , including bad rings. Thats not typical on DSM's , so I would suggest doing the above to narrow it down. Turbo seals don't generally go bad unless the turbo was overboosted , or it was put away hot too many times. I'd also invest in a turbo timer....it would eliminate that particular problem on future turbo's that you install.

Just look at them, turn to look at your car, look back at the, with a "WTF" look and say "Does yours not do that ? Sh** !"
Or just ignore them completely - it's not like you wouldnt NOTICE your engine running as you got out the car !
