Special Vehicles Team ... producing supercharged Ford engines found in the mustang cobra, mach I, and Saleen, as well as the F 150 lightning and SVT focus (which is a joke).

Saleens are not SVT and neither is the mach 1. The mach 1 is also not supercharged. Many SVT cars are naturally aspirated. :)

Special Vehicles Team............ with a name like that you gotta wonder why they're building Cobra's and stuff. It sounds as if they should be building Disabled buses or car conversions for wheel chair bound people.
(no offense to anyone its not meant as a joke more an observation on the stupid name)

How so? Because it isn't a good drag racer? It's not meant to be
People need to get the whole "bad 1/4 time = bad car" mentality out of their system...that wasn't the intent of the car so don't judge it based on that. On a road course track I'd put money on the SVT over your del Sol anyday....
If your "joke" comment was referring to some other aspect of the car, please explain.

The SVT focus is a joke because they charge you a lot of extra dinero for it, and most if not all of the stuff on it is basic bolt on. Also.. the shift pattern sucks!!
R 1 3 5
2 4 6
it's almost impossible to get the car into reverse. I had to use both hands to pull it over. Very bad design.

and the mach I, though not labelled as SVT, rolls out of the same plant, has many of the same upgrades, and feels a whole lot like the SVT cobra. To carry the mach I, a dealership has to be blue oval certified for the SVT vehicles. The same people work on it. Ditto for the saleen. Trust me. I have spent the last 2 weeks watching more hours of videos about it than I care to admit.

Not quite...I worked at a non-SVT dealer and we ordered and received 5 Mach 1's direct from the factory.
About the SVT Focus price...you are correct there. It is pretty expensive, unfortunately enough. However, that does help keep it exclusive.
The SVT Focus gear pattern is the same as that on a BMW, MINI, and plenty of other cars. I like the BMW and VW way of doing it though, so you have to press the shifter down to move it into reverse. I've yet to try out the Focus's shifter, but the MINI (Cooper S, the non S with the 5-speed has reverse under 5th) also requires a firm shove to get the shifter over to the R. The reasoning is so that you don't put it over into the reverse column while shifting to 2nd or 1st, but a shift collar or push down shift lock would be much more effective, IMO.

personally, I prefer the cobra shift pattern..
1 3 5 R
..2 4 6
much more user friendly.
