QG18 support?

Hello, I'm new.

I went to a dealer today and drove the sentra 1.8s. It comes with a decent supply of options, it handles nice, and I was suprised at the power of the QG. For the price diff. and the lighter weight [2580lbs] the 1.8s seems like a fun daily driver with a few bolt ons.
I am curious:
How many of you forumers have a QG powered B-series?
what kind of mods have you done and with what results?
Is the QG turbo-able?

Thank you.

I really don't know much about the QGs, but I know of somebody that adapted a GA16 turbo kit from HotShot, using a JWT ECU.

Personally, I'd just get one of the 2.0's. Still not quite an SE-R, but the SR in it has definitely more potential.

I agree ideally, but I'm looking to buy new and just modify existing internals without spending a huge amount of money. The 1.8s is about 5,000 cheaper than the specV and I'm already on a tight budget.

Are you in the U.S.? If so, the non-SE-R Sentras like the GXE 2.0 have the SR20DE in them, hence the 2.0 designation. The SE-R and the SpecVs have the QR25 in them.

The 2.0 is no longer available new; there are no longer any SR powered Sentras.

Unfortunately, I don't know much about the QG either, but I'm sure there are plenty of people that have done modifications to them, and they seem like a competent engine.

Currently I am in the u.s.
When was the last year the SR20 was available in a B-series?

Since when?

I know they made this model until at least early 2001 in the U.S.:

That's in Canada, where you're from Heep:icon16:.

Edit: I just read up on it, and you're absolutely right, Heep. They stopped selling SR Sentras in 2001. I always thought those 2.0's were the latest models...guess not.

Anyhow, you can always get a 2.5 LE, which has the QR25, same as the SE-Rs, but in a sedan, and cheaper.

Yeah 01 is the last year the sr20 was still available in the sentra, I got lucky :)

There are many people who have modded their qg's, I think the fastest ones are in the mid 15's with all the bolt-ons and n2o but I'd have to check on that. One person has turbo'd the qg and it seems to be doing well, he's a member on here but he doesn't come around much. If you see him around any other sentra boards his SN is chimmike on all of them.
