Try www.grundy.com.

I saw them on one of the many car shows this weekend. I checked them online for a quote for my R32 and it was fairly cheap. But I dont know what they actually cost. Hope that helps.

i asked a company that imports japanese cars, how much can u import a 98 r33 Gtr v-spec, they said 40K. But they dont do the neccessary testing. all they do is bring the car over. So i asked wut could u do for 20K. they said that they can bring a 96 R33 Gtr v-spec. So im think about bringing the r33 for 20K and get motorex to do the testing which they say cost around 17K and total being around 37K. which is my limit im leaving an extra 5K for registration and other possible things i need to accomplish.

What company would this be doing the importing? Like half the other US residents in here I'm going on a daily search for way to get a skyline into the US without spending an arm and a leg. Another thing, do you know if Motorex will do the conversion if you didn't import the car through them?

As a matter of fact...they will. Unfortunately, unless you want to spend a LOT of money for air travel, hotels, cabs (probably close to $2000) you'll have to buy a car you've never seen. There are a few of us around here that will look for the exact car you want, will set up the shipping and everything....and it will cost you a lot less than just buying a car through motorex. You still have to get it modified by Motorex in the end. As an example, there was a guy on base who just bought a 96 V-spec....almost perfect with a small scratch on the left rear (maybe a 400 dollar fix) with 16k miles for 1.8 million yen (16k USD). Add 1k for importation/deregistration fees, 1k for services rendered, and 23k for the Motorex conversion (I believe that's the fee for an R33) and you have a car for 41k that Motorex will charge you almost 60 for....just a suggestion.

When u bring a skyline into the US.. what conversions need to be done? And why does it cost soo much? I live in DC and I have a friend in Japan who is trying to find me a r34 skyline.. I can import it for free through the World bank.. I'm just wondering how much more will I have to spend on the car to drive it here.. How much on an average is the insurence and any other things u need to deal with to get it here?
I"m new at this.. and I just started looking for the car..
Also do the r34 gts and gtr both have that copmuter thingy or just the r34. Is the only diff. between them the twin turbo.. or is it possible to tt the gts?
