How does the rotary engine work? What are its pors and cons. What other car makers besides Mazda use them?

off hand I know Mercedes had a rotary concept sportscar back in the 70's I think, and General Motors conceived a corvette rotary application but scrapped it in 76 and stopped all R&D on REs.
here's that mercedes:

Thank you, that was very helpful. How can you tune a rotary engine?

Primary tuning of a rotary engine is in teh ports. Change the shape of the ports, you change when and how much air and fuel is added to the combustion chamber. read this page completely:
http://www.rotaryengineillustrated.com/RE101pages/4-ports101.html
Of course, there is fuel delivery, spark mapping, and forced induction changes you can make, but the ports are really the heart of tuning the rotary.

The Wankel engine ("rotary") patent was owned by NSU-Auto Union, a German automaker. They produced the NSU Ro80 and Spyder using their version of the engine in the 1960s. NSU was purchased by Volkswagen, merged with Audi and renamed Audi AG. Volkswagen may still own the patent on the engine...although Mazda is currently the only licensee (if indeed they are still under license) of the patent.
Suzuki produced a rotary motorcycle decades ago. A number of car companies were testing rotary engines including the aforementioned Daimler-Benz and General Motors. GM's developement was to include an engine sold to AMC...American Motors even developed a car for it but the powerplant was never finished and AMC had to restyle the vehicle to hold a regular piston engine; this car was the Pacer.
Citroen, NSU, and Mazda, as far as I can recall, are the only companies to have produced a Wankel-engined car.

Do all Mazda models use the same rotary engine or are there any differences or improvements between in each model's engine?

Mazda's rotary engine has been improved generation after generation. Currently, the Renesis rotary engine used in the RX8 is offered in two different states of tune: 247hp with a stick and 207hp with an automatic.

Can you turbocharge a rotary engine? If so, how does it work?

oh sure, the 86-92 RX-7 turbo II had a single turbo and 93-95 RX-7 had twinturbo. I've seen drag racing builds make over 1000hp
check out this site for some aussie builds and rare Rx-3s,4s,Cosmos, and others:

Someone put a rotary engine in your B2200? The factory didn't.

if you've got a B2200 with a rotary engine, then you already have an Rx-7 engine. Unless it came out of an RX-3 or something. Mazda did make rotary engine pickups, but they weren't the B2200. What year truck do you have?????
