The 5.0 chickens out

I was cruising around the local mitsubishi dealership looking for a decent used car for my girlfriend when i see this 5.0 mustang driving around..lmao.. he killed it trying to peel out of the lot. Anyway i see this salesman come cruising around in an Eclipse GST and i think hmmm. He pulled up to his salesman buddy as the mustang pulled away and asked if it was a 5.0, the other salesman nodded and off Mr. Eclipse went as fast as he could. I thought, this is great i have to follow and see this myself. So i'm about half a length of a football field from the two cars who going down the one way road at at least 55 miles per hour in a 30mph, i caught up at the stoplight and they turned on to rt. 45 which is a two land road, they get at the top of the overpass and the Eclipse gets in the left lane. The 5.0 didn't want any, he peeled off onto the onramp in a cheap maneuver after having me and the Ecplipse driver to think he was gonna go to the stoplight. How disappointing, this could have been a decent matchup possibly. Maybe he just wasn't much of a refined manual tranny driver?

And possible the mustang driver got off at his exit because he had better things to do then jeopardize his license.

If I peeled out on private property & someone started following me I'd disappear, too.

It could be worse. I get every wannbe you can imagine wanting to line up the GTR. Yet the better cars usually wont. These are the same cars that had no problems testing my GTS-t skyline which is a 2wd 2litre turbo. Of course since it was pushing well over 300bhp they usually got delt to though a few did me.

considering he already broke a law or two i don't think he's the type of person who'd care about his driving license.

ummm I think there is a difference between a impropper take off ticket for like 60 bucks and street racing invoked supended license. Wouldnt you agree?

Well before he even got there he was hauling arse down the back stretch to get to the road, so i doubt that he cared on the next road. I think now, he prolly couldnt' handle stick that well.

I think now, he prolly couldnt' handle stick that well You should try shifting with your left, right Razor?

I really do perfer shifting in my GTR, rather than the Stang.

If you saw me on the street you would probably never seem me really let my Stang rip. Just not worth my license. It would have to be some really sick car like an old muscle car with a big blower through the hood or a Ferrari. Something that would void my better judgement.

I kinda agree with 94SVT5.0. A speeding ticket or exhibition whatever is totally different than being caught street racing. Youre talking serious penalties. Besides if i was the 'stang driver I too wouldnt waste my gas trying to impress some four-banger let alone some other idiot thats following him... Dunno thats just my opinion.

So he peeled out while approaching the stoplight? How can you assume anything about what he was doing? This story has lots of holes. Maybe he was distracted by two approaching yahoo's, and misjudged the onramp. Or more likely, he was just playing with you guys.

So i'm an idiot now because i thought i would get to see a couple nice cars race....Wow, sounds like it's that time of the month for someone.

The story doesn't have a lot of holes, what i meant to say i guess was that he peeled out pulling out of the dealership. There is a 1 mile stretch to the road they were headed to, and they were speeding down it pretty fast, and that guy turns out is from Tolono (a local town near me) Everyone i've talked to says he's a deauchebag(spelling?) anyway. If that clears anything up....but i'm done with this thread..it's past

Actually, You read into it wrong. I was speaking in general. If i was being followed by a tin can and some other guy behind him, I would deem you two idiots for trying to race or see what comes of it.

So, you wouldnt at all be interested if it looked like two guys in decent cars were going to race in front of you? Well, ok. Guess Josh and I just like to watch races. But there's no need to call names, that's just not nice.

Actually I wouldnt. I find street racing ridiculous. I say idiots because street racing and all its glorification is idiotic. You wouldnt call drunk drivers dumb'sses? :dunno:
And like i mentioned, I didnt point any fingers at anyone, Just generalizing :dunno:

Can you really get a ticket for an "improper takeoff"? Im assuming improper takeoff refers to fast acceleration and if theres laws against that, whats next? Snap, crackle, and pop laws?

Actually, I think it's "agressive accelaration" But Im not sure, Ill check into it.

I think there's a bit of a difference between a drunk driver and street racers. And yes, I would call a drunk driver a dumbass. The point is, some people actually find it interesting, that's not to say it's not stupid of the people racing, but the fact that you yourself find it idiotic doesnt change the fact that someone else may find it interesting or intriguing. Oh well, doesnt matter anyways.
