Humming escort?

My girlfriends escort seems to be making a humming sound. It's not too bad at low speeds but one she hits over 30mph its unbearable. We thought it was her muffler but nope, we also went to a tire shop n they said new tires should fix it. Of course it didnt. She heard from a friend this is a common problem with these cars, is this true? And if so what is it and can it be fixed relatively cheaply?

Did you tell the tire shop of the problem? Its inconsiderate of them to do tires and not fix your problem. To me it feels like you may have a bad wheel bearing. Take it back and get them to check it out at no charge. All the best.

Yea they knew of the problem, matter of fact they said get some tires and it will completely fix it. I'll have her take it back to them next week as shes at a friends now. Appreciate it.
