Well this is a very adventuorus build for me!I've never done it before and I think is a great challenge...But they say a pic is better than 1000 words...

Here is some closer pics of the engine but it was to difficult to photo it cause it was white, the light poor and the camera sucked...Sorry!

So far I opened the hood(which was really difficult)and took the engine of a Z3 M and I'm planning the lay out of the engine bay using Hasewaga base and the Z3 parts...
P.S:Add to the above the M style bumpers, race interior, and racing wheels and it will be a beast...
P.S.2:Any color suggestions are useful....

Yap it's from the Bburago Diecast...It's pretty accurate but I have to detail some bits, put some wires and make some chrome bits silver...Other than that it's perfect...

Cool project . There aren't a lot of M3 4 doors.... For the color, I suggest blue (I like blue & the contrast with the M3 taillights) with BBS chrome wheels...

Well it's a 318i which is a 4door sedan and it will be powered by an M3 engine...
It's a very comon engine swap here in greece that ppl have not enough money to buy original M3's they buy 316's coupes or any 3 series model and put all the mechanic parts of M3's...
P.S:AS you propably know M3's are coupe's so all of them are 2 Door...

I say just in 1995, BMW marketed a 4 doors M3 but compared with the coupé M3, the 4 doors had not success...

I pretty sure that there is no 4-door M3...The only 4-door Mpowered car is M5...
I'm almost 99% sure so If you know that there was one I'd like to know more...

The E36 body style (same body style as the Hasegawa 318i kit) M3 was produced as a 2 door and a 4 door. The E30 and the current E46 were/are only offered as 2 door.
The easiest way to add the M3 aero package (front and rear air dams, side door sills, and mirrors) and wheels to this model would be to get ahold of the Dragon M3 kit (can be found on Ebay sometimes) The Revell Germany kit is identical. These parts will directly fit the Hasegawa 318i body. Then you can build the 2 door body with the 318 dams & sills and end up with a 318is!
As for color, the E36 M3 looks great in blue or yellow! It was offered in Avus Blue (dark blue metallic) and Estoril Blue (light medium blue metalic), and Dakar yellow, a light, almost -but not quite- cream yellow; as well as red, white, black, silver, and metallic green. I did mine in Avus, and found a mix of Tamiya royal blue and gunmetal to be a good match.
Cool project! Looking forward to seeing it finished!

Hmmm, I was curius about the thread starters project, not how to make one. I´m a Bimmerholic, so as espected, I allready know about the BMWfacts of color, model and so forth. Do a search and you´ll see my bimmer´s here on forum and you`ll know what I´m talking about.

Dang, this is going to be awesome. Where did you get that BMW kit? I've been looking everywhere for one.
I think that you should paint it Avus blue, if you haven't already. Either that, or Imola Red.

Well the project is put on hold since I currently work on another engine conversion(180SX)...However this is the next project I'll finish...
Tamiya Chrome yellow seemed an OK color for me but I also love the beatiful Estoril blue...
For the M aero package I'm not really sure...There is a possibility for adding a different front bumper or going all the way stock(M3)...Dunno
I'll post pics when have some progress...

Yes, Estroil Blue is very nice. Avus is also a pretty hot color on the coupes.
You should go for the Estroil.
