Suspension Question

I'm thinking about lowing my 98 civic EX a couple of inchs. My car rides kind of smooth at the moment and would hate to loose that. What would I need to do to lower it and keep it from bouncing all over the place?

either you can go with a good coilover sleeve and shock sombo like ground control coilovers and koni yellows or you can go for a full coilover setup like tein basic damper, tein fle, progress,h&r, apexi ws, etc...

To maintain as close to stock quality as possible, you'll HAVE to get true full coilovers like Tein, A'PEXi, JIC, or Zeal. POS coilover sleeves like Dropzone, Skunk2 and Ground Control won't give you nearly as smooth of a ride as true coilovers will.

stay away from junk sleeve type coil-overs spings. Get a true coilover as posted with both shock/spring included. If you like the stock ride, stay stock.

Actually once you lower your car any amount the ride will become stiffer, because in order to prevent bottoming out you have to increase the spring rates which makes the car ride stiffer.
To make sure your car doesn't bounce you want to invest in a good set of shocks to counter-act the stiffer springs.

less suspension travel = Mo bounce!

so it's more likely not to have a good ride. unless I leave it alone.

It will have a sweet ride if you do it right, which is not the cheapest way. Dont do more than a 2" drop.
IMO stock suspension suck, I like a firm ride no matter what kind of car it may be.
