My car makes this awful rattling sound just when I'm about to change from first to second and sometimes in second. I'm preety sure it's my heat shield rattling against my header. Anyone have this problem in the past, if so how do I fix the problem?

well if it is a heat shield most likely it broke off from the mountings, so you'll need to buy a new one and just mount it up.

Have you fixed it yet or do you have to buy a whole new cat?

i just deal with the noise, if u think its the heat shield u can put metal pipe clamps around the heat shield and cat heres where ive seen that idea heres where i got that idea (http://www.fourthgenhatch.com/index2.html)

Wow! My exhaust has been rattling right around 3,000 rpm for a long time now! I'm fixing it this weekend!
Yee-Haw!
Oh, yeah, if you've got a bunch of hoseclamps laying around, you can always combine multiple clamps to make one BIG one.
