its alittle harder then putting it in other models. becuase the 89-90 models came witht he CA18DET. but its still a pretty straight forward swap.

the wire system is a little different cause the 89-90 comes with a soch motor and the sr20det is a dohc and the sr has direct ignition and the ka doesnt but like tat said it is still a simple swap..

took my answer..
there's a couple of differences, and it's a bit harder then the same swap into a 91+, but still VERY easy and straight-forward.

Why does everyone want to do this swap? I still think a Swap with a newer 3.5 (the VG35 or whatever) litre nissan engine, ala New Z-car would kick ass...
Besides they are putting that engine (different versions) in so many different cars i am sure they are becoming readily avalible in bone yards.
Or how about the 4.5 litre monster V8 from a Q45.
Although more suited for the s14 chassis than the S13... it would still kick ass!

You mean Chris Kam's Dori_Z28.... that guy is insane... hes got some balls man, yeah I seen his and his ride...... Oh yeah, I know about the sickness of played out swaps, but, the reasn they are played out is because they work.... Sure it would be cool to drive something different.. but, tried and true never fail you..... I mean, a EG civic with a NSX motor would be insane, but a B16 is so much more feasible.....

Chris is the man. and Matto-San, and Stan...and Lance....and Justin...etc.
i don't think the SR swap is played out. it works, and that's all that matters really...who cares how many people have it? alot of people have KA24's in their 240SX's, does that mean IT'S played out?
i'm still doing the SR swap, i don't give a fuck if it's "played out" or "cliched" or whatever. it's what i want, so that's that. i don't care about trends.

I donno if the VQ35 will fit cuz its designed to sit more midship....still a cool idea nonetheless...

Yeah but neither are "SR" engines,
so that makes them cool...

I thought he meant since theres a picture of a VG30 in a S13, you can fit a VQ in.
The only reason Im not sure a VQ will fit is because it was designed to fit amidship, with the centerpoint of the engine behind the front axle, hence the really long front ends on the G35, FX, 350Z etc.
If theres a way to make it fit, then it would be an amazing swap.
