I will be buying my 1991 mr2 n/a in 4 days ( I turn 18) I want to get the best (cheepest) insurance possible. A company name and about what you pay per month would be greatly appreciated. During my test drive I went 90 ohhh so exciting. Jamata

alritey, first of all, insurance for the 91 is gnna b a lil cheaper than 120 a month, so maybe around 100? Depeends what kinda "SAFETY FEATURES" you've got, or added. Adding racing seats increases safety, so they drop insurance a lil. If u were a good boy in skoo, they drop sum too. Depends on different factors of ur life, but its probably gnna b around 100.
As for radars and Lasers, don't get the aftermarket things. i've tried a few, and they only give like, one second to slow down b4 you see the cop. Go with ValentineOne radars and lasers. I've had that one for over a year now, and no tickets. It gives u +10 seconds to slow ur ass down, so its REALLY dependable. There are also some that are illegal in CA, but just do a lil research on K-band and X-band signals, so u can decipher cops from truckers.
FYI - you could actually build yourself a jammer, costs cheap, but if ur busted, its ur ass man... Its just the risk you take. Works VERY well

I was a good boy in highschool, I was close to that 3.0 marker (close but no cigar). Thanks for the heads up on the Radar... The cheepest ive found in Washington for insurance is 214 a month, I gotta take what i can get untill i find a better one... I think you will understand buying your first car or sports car is like your first sexual encounter. You have to have it! thanks

doesn't matter if it's turbo or na, your insurance will still be steep especially if you are under 25. considering the fact that it's a true sportscar(2 seater)..that alone will syrock your rate. be prepared if you get one with ttops, that will be an additional. then again, the car is awesome!!! you just have to sacrifice. financial-wise that is. :bigthumb:

Geez, you guys are pretty lucky with insurance. When I tried to get a quote for my imported 94 turbo, they just laughed (I'm 18), and I didn't even tell them about the mods yet. :)

Full coverage...209.04 for six months coverage through State Farm.
I am a young 37....I have had the car since I was 24.....It was never that expensive from what I remember. I do know...that when I shopped around...several companies told me that they would not even insure that car.....I said do you realize how slow this thing is?? Did not matter....

Girls are alwayz easier to insure than guys, and we all know why, they're generally not nearly as stupid behind the wheel as we are.
Come to think of it, if insurance wasn't so high in Australia, half of the younger generation would be wrapped around a pole, coz they'd all be buying Skyline's other high performance imports for the same price as an EK Civic.

I agree....They said that is is one of the cars that they will not insure. They would insure it if I was already with them and happend to buy it at a later date.

Yeh, I think my boyfriend and I feel mutual about our relationship and think we are both lucky!
The guys that critisized didn't really bother me because you have to be able to take criticism from people. No matter what, even if you're the epitome of beautiful, you would definitely still get some sort of criticism. That post was definitely flattering though. I usually don't get what I would consider nice comments about myself, I just get obnoxious guys who try to pick me up with the "Hey BABY!"
Real lame.

I think her insurance is only $54 because she's not listed as the main driver and only has liability?
I'm nearly 18, driven everyday for a year and a half with no tickets or violations of any kind. I got the smart kid discount (3.6gpa) took the driving class, watched the video, added in the multiple car discount and STILL:
For a 1991 n/a mr2 with 'sport roof':
$170 a month for liability ONLY!!!!
FAH!

I post really early in the morning...barely anyone is on to slow the servers down :)...same thing with driving...drive at night and rarely do you have to worry about cars...other than a few people way past the legal limit for alc and stupid cops who have nothing better to do than follow you for a few miles.
I was going 50 on the highway one time and a cop tailgated me when there were only 2 cars (a friend of mine was behind me about a half mile) for miles ahead and behind....maybe that cop was past the legal limit ahahahah
I digress...
I wanna see pics of this blue car...Nautical blue might be the color I get, but if there is another good color than I might choose that...2 blues were offered stock right????

Insurance all depends on where your from, well since im from NYC insurance is real expensive. I ve recently bought a 1993 mr2 turbo and i had my dad by the insurance for me. The main driver listed is my dad but with me under it as well. I pay $630 a year for laibility, but thats also because my dad has perfect credit and not one accident on his record. So fact is where you're from and how your parents history is matters alot. My friend who has a 1996 240sx only pays $240 a year for liability and thats only because he lives in connecticut, just to give you an idea of the fluctuating rates. Oh yea, just so if you're wondering , i have Geico. From whaat i've heard Geico is the cheapest insurance you can buyas for premiums go, but if you fuck up once that premium will tear you a new asshole.

The first second gen mr2 I've seen in years or maybe the first I've ever seen was in aquamarine pearl. Just a few days ago. Looked so nice...I think it was the turbo...91/92 also...exactly what I want. The color is a bit bright and more attention grabbing than I usually like. Like red cars, I usually stay away from anything that's really bright, but that aquamarine pearl is a really nice color...
I still can't make my decision...1995-1998 240sx or 1991-1992 mr2
:crying:
...
I'll just get both :naughty:

for practicality get the 240, for fun at a reasonable price get the mr2.
I drive a red mr2. It sucks being red... real, real bad.
