No buddy, you got it all wrong... I am ThaLegend :pimp: I would say sleeve your block, upgrade roller rocker arms, upgraded camshafts low compression pistons, I think GSR comes with 10:5 compression ratio... so lower that shit to about 9:0 then your in buisness for a turbo friendly engine. Not to mention at 15psi your tranny needs to be worked also. You looking to spend some serious Green, but good luck. :pimp:

Please, stop your killing me. Stock motor will hold that just fine. If you get a GSR motor in good condition, all you really need is a headgasket and the proper fuel setup to run 1bar on pump gas. As far as tranny goes, you'll just need to step up on your clutch. It's not as hard as it seems. Dont' worry about the amount of boost you want to run, what hp levels and track times are you trying to get.

llok to run aver 10 psi on a honda motor you need to up grade your internals of else they will go.. he said he wnats to boost 15 psi so he need s to rebuild internals.. i say stick with the orginal motor if itz a dohc and upgrade the internals..

i say get a td-05 16g turbo or a t3\t4 hybrid..

good luck

no you don't, a headgasket it good enough to run up to 22psi. I only built my block to run 35psi.

so you are sayin that a bone stock intrega motor can take up to 22 psi??

i dont think so them most i ever heard a intrega motor takin stock is 10psi max on stock internals..

Stock internals yes, maybe only 10psi just to be safe. But if you add and inlinepro headgasket it can hold much more. Just ran 15psi on a completely stock gsr motor, it made 340whp and is going strong. Tunning is the key. The headgasket will lower the compression some depending one if you get the 2 or 3mm gasket. They work great.

learn something new every day

good job but iwould still reinforce the internals to be on the safe side..

I agree, that's why I did. But if money is tight, the headgasket is always a way to go.

I'm so sick of hearing that. I know people with daily drivers running D16 motors at 14psi and people running 16psi on a race CRX with a Cometic head gasket. I personally run 11psi every now and then.

Most people are just too scared to run over psi, so they come up with this 10psi limit. It's B.S.

personally I'd say build it up... it actually depends on how much daily driving you really do and how you drive that determines what amount of boost will be safe to run... If your daily driving consists of driving to work which is 5 miles round trip and you drive in a manner that won't blow your motor then you can prolly run more boost... if you drive say 70 miles round trip to work everyday and like to open up the throttle then you should keep the boost levels down on stock internals... to put it simply the more boost you run the quicker you're gonna need to rebuild the block... on my stock internals I was only running about 8 or 9 psi until we rebuilt... as far as to the original question of what you should do the best thing would be to do a search on the forum, you'll be able to get a lot of info that way.

I've hit 10psi each way to work for over a year now. Runs great!

how far do you drive to work... not saying bs or anything like that cause i ran my stock internals for a little over a year driving about 80 miles round trip 6 out of the 7 days of the week at 8 or 9 and when we ripped the motor apart my number 3 piston was definately starting to wear, the motor still ran and all but it was time for a rebuild...

My job is about 10 miles one way. I also drive to lunch, then back home. I also have to drive another 10-15 miles one way twice a week for softball or anything else I want to do.

I've got an '02 civic si.

if I installed a turbo, and ran on the stock internals, let's say 6psi to be on the safe side.. would that be a noticeable amount of power?

Then how much would it cost if I wanted to build up the internals to accommodate more boost?

Of course. Low boost levels make suprising power on high-compression motors, but fuel and timing would need to be addressed IMMEDIATELY.

Don't know, how about searching or calling someone? Maybe start your own thread about it? :biggrin2:

I think I didn't really ask the question right, but I'll just start a new thread, sorry to hijack this one.

thanks for the info.
