talk to Phact about owning a dohc ZC. his has been nothing but problems since day one, and finding OE parts is impossible, let alone aftermarket.
they are cheap for a reason.

i have neither but my opinion is the b16 is more worthy than the dohc zc any day, not too much more in cost and way better power output and after market products, fuck the zc

If you can spend the extra dough I think the B16 is a way better option. I and many other B16 owners can vouch that these cars take a beating.. Sometimes I'll drive mine at and above 5000rpm for 5-6 hours in a day. Not as good on gas as I'd like, but the motor never gives me and trouble. :) I beat on mine, just make sure I change the oil every 5000k and keep high octane gas in it, its been really really good to me.

I was asking the same question a few weeks ago and I received replies from both sides of the fence. Alot of people seem to prefer the b16 motor and from what I understand, it does have more power, however I looked into it and it requires a bit more modification to fit it into your car.
I had just as many ZC owners email me and swear it was the best move they ever made and that they have had zero problems with it and that the power was great.
But face it, there is always going to be a lemon here and there....Hell, there is probably 1 or 2 people out there that had a bad experience with a honda in their lives and now they bash it... when we all know the true facts..and that hondas are basically indestructable...
For me, I am going with the ZC, for cost reasons mainly. I am not racing it, and it is going to cost me half the price of a b16 swap (plus it will drop right in). I have a 91 std with around 60hp so even a sohc zc would be a huge improvement!
But to tell you the truth...if I had the dough...I'd probably do a b16 too...

i would go sohc vtec over zc. b16 has more power however, keep in mind that it is more expensive to maintain. that is why i chose the sohc vtec for my daily driver & road trip car. for example: go price any aftermarket clutch (stage 1,2, or 3) for the d16 and then the b16. it's pretty gh3y but majority of b series cost up to, if not more than double $$$ of a d
if you don't daily torture (i mean drive ;) ) your car and you want some power then i would skip the zc & sohc vtec
