Mods or new engine

Hi. I am considering getting either a 2003 or 2001 evo. WHat would be some good engines for either of these cars? Also what mods should be made?

PS how much hp can you get out of the stock engine?

why would you wanna put a new engine in a 03 evo? if you buy an 01 i hope that it wouldn't need one. are you just talking outta your ass or are you serious about wanting to get a new engine? maybe you should check the specs on these cars first, they're not hondas

I know the specs on them. I was wondering how I could make them BETTER.

you can make them better by puttin a free flowing intake, 3"exhaust and downpipe, up grade the fmic, get larger dimater piping for the intercooler, geta bo.v. a turbo timer, boost controller, maybe a piggy back ecu, some 650cc injetors, upgrade to a bigget turbo, get a external waste gate and change your exhaust manifold.. tune the car to compisate for the added air and fuel and you can easily get near 400hp @ wheels.

ok, youre gonna want to get the 01 lancer, because, as we all know, the 03 lancer is only available in japan. once you get it, youll notice an astonishing lack of power, which is only correctable by swapping in a b16 motor. after this, youll be pushing 500 hp at the seat belt, so youll need a new cupholder, probably magnesium is the best kind, and a titanium cigarette lighter. chrome hubcaps are a must and 1999 vampire style undertray and bushings are a MUST

the evo 8 is running like 270 hp stock.. all you have to do is buy a little chip for the ecu which gives you another 180 hp.. so youll be running 450 hp just off one mod.. then replace all the other stuff.. and there you go you made your lancer better.. theres no need to swap engines.. this isnt a honda

180 hp from a chip? wow... u need to link me... cause i dun think so... turbo2nr pretty much hit that question on the nose though, free up the air flow... increase the fuel comming in... tune the car to compensate... depending on the stuff you get... and who does it.. prolly a lil over 400 hp at the wheels

since it doesn't say your location... giving you an answer is really hard. It's really hard to drain HP out of the 120 SOHC lancer cedia... an evo is a diff question... are you in us or europe??

USA. I know the evo 8 isnt available in the USA but I am thinking further down the line (2004)
