DSM Shootout 2k3

Well I just got back from the shootout tonight. I had a blast. It was my first time ever dragracing. My first run was my best , then the rest sucked. I ran the 1990 gsx....I only have a 2.5" turbo-back exhaust and I was running 16psi. I also had race gas (110 octane)

I ran a 14.479 @ 95.48 mph. My 60' time was 2.139.
Pretty good for my first time?

I'm pretty sure that was Tym Schwittzer's (sp?). If I remember correctly he was in the mid 9's. :eek:

I see you got Leons "Green Machine," Bruces "Mighty Mouse", and the yellow Bushur 8 second conquest that took me out with a 9.9 to my 11.9, lol. Not sure if you saw me there, I had the red 95 with CF hood and chrome mazda wheels.

I had a great weekend. I qualified for the quick 16 in the summit event saturday, went to the second round and got some cash. On sunday, I had some issues (blew the oil filter off all weekend long) and couldnt compete. Awesome time though. Leon mopped up too. Runner up on saturdays Q16, winner of the DSM eliminator class, and won dyno king. LOL.

Ya I remember seeing your car. Not sure if you saw me or not. I had the really slow 1990 gsx w/ white rims. I was in bracket 2 and got put out in the second round by some guy that had turd written on his rear window. The ride back sucked though. We caravaned w/ this one guy w/ a 90 talon who kept loosing antifreeze so we had to pull over about every 70 miles on our 500mile trip back. I was staying at the amerihost hotel. It's pretty cool seeing all of these dsm's around you and about 90% of em have a big ass fmic.

LOL :lol: I hear ya. I'm one of those poeple with the big FMIC, but for me its looking around at all these cars in my class with massive turbos, 2 spd autos, and backhalved cars with massive tires. heh.

The red 1g is Mike Rizzottis low 11 second talon. The only reason I'm ahead of him is that his tcase broke on that launch. He was bakin the tdrag radials in 3rd trying to run me down on the back end, but he couldnt find any FWD traction and gave up :lol: He swapped in a spare tcase in the hotel parking lot that night and raced on sunday.
