Just a photo tip: Use the macro mode if you have one on your camera so the model will be in focus.

That looks fucking amazing!!!!:worshippy :worshippy :worshippy :worshippy , some questions and advice: 1 who makes those kits (just the fire birds, don't need to know about turbos), 2 how much work was put into all those mods? 3 LEAVE IT FLAT BLACK! It looks stunning as it is.

Looks cool  good to see a Firebird coming along. And I too have the same questions as 454SS, who makes that kit?

That looks soooo mean!! :bigthumb: How in the world did you do the hood, cause I know noone makes a ram air hood that fits with the LT-1 style front ends! That thing would be killer in real life with a turbocharged LS-1!!!

CamaroSSBoy346

AMT makes a convertable and hardtop curbsite trans am. Monogram makes a regular (engine) kit. (look at attached pic) Where did you get that ws6 hood?

Welcome, good to see you getting nice and clear pictures now. That Firebird is going to be bad ass when it is done! I got a F-body in the works (2002 Camaro SS) but still need to strip messed up paint from the chassis. Maybe you should show us how you mod the hood. It looks so clean!

454, M.M.Maniac, Hawk312, CamaroSSBoy, Reveller: It is actually 2 kits, '96 AMT Firebird and '98 Firebird Ram-Air. Check out my sig. for most of the mods for the body. The rear bumper was a no brainer, as was the rear spoiler, The roof was a simple graft on, I also smoothed out the roof, and the ground effects were scratchbuilt useing .040 styrene strips and squadron white putty. the hardest parts were the sides and the hood. For the sides, I removed the sides from the '96 just below the door trim line and a little higher on the front fender and replaced what I cut off with the corresponding parts from the '98. As for the hood, I flattend the "inverted" '96 hood scoops by cutting along the sides and front and moveing them up to level with the rest of the hood. Then I removed the Ram-Air scoop from the '98 hood and added it to the '96 hood and smoothed the seams with white putty. Finally I removed the plastic from under the scoop add clearance in the "engine room".

Verminator:Those are otional wheels from the Revell ITR kit.

Tonioseven:I was planning on painting it Duplicolor Deep Jewel Green, but now I'm considering satin black. HMMMM...decisions, decisions.

Thanks, all for the comments. I'll post more pics. as I progress. :sunglasse

I changed my mind on the color and agree with Hawk312. I am now going to paint it with Model Master turn signal amber over Tamiya white primer. Why the change? I feel the dark colors of green or black will hinder the visual impact of the mods. made to the car( besides most of my models are painted with dark colors:biggrin: ).

Not much yet. Just primed it white and scratchbuilt the exhaust leading from the turbos to the mufflers.
We just had a baby boy about 3 weeks ago and that is taking most of my time right now. I'm still working on it though.:sunglasse
