1985 eldorado speedometer problem

i have a problem i was wondering if anybody could help me with....the digital speedometer in my eldorado does not work....it always reads "0".
it is lit up, and the mechanical odometer does work. just not the digital features, (speedometer, mpg etc...)

i would first try resetting your computer or checking it for codes.
But im not sure what would cause that. sorry but i hope that helps.

try this, disconnect the power cables and leave the car alone for three or four minutes. reconnect the battery cables (make sure there tight) and take it for a test drive. if this doesn't work, then it is a computer problem. also-is your odometer mechanical or digital?
