Finished pics of Alpine A110 1600SC Berlinette

At last, here are the finished pics of my best model sofar (If I may say so myself.

I think it belongs to the category of model cars that "do look nice but look even better IRL".

This model looks box-stock , but there have been made many modifications to make it even more true to it's real life counterpart, the awesome, road-going Alpine.

So, what are the mods;
Some detail painting according to reference pictures
Blackwashing and drybrushing parts of the engine
Heat discoloration on the exhaust
The interior has recieved a special threatment , I was going for a worn leather look , and it came out nice nicely.. but not very noticable ...
Valves have been added to the rims
The engine has been wired, and the carburetters have been detailed
Painted Tamiya Chrome Yellow, polished afterwards.
The rims have been painted Tamiya AS-42 (silver leaf) and the bumpers also.

And for the rest spraycans , and tesors metalisers complete this package .

Tell me what you think as I think I did a quite .. :bigthumb: job!

:feedback: always appreciated.

Cheers,
olivier

On with the pictures (it was a bit late, so no really glossy pics, although the paint is smooth as ice.

Now that’s a pleasure to see one of these beauties.
It looks real nice in yellow. I think this one looks nice in any colour :biggrin:
I have worked recently in a A110 too, but the Rally version.
Unfortunately there was a ... humm .... problem with de decals. :rolleyes:
I’m waiting for a new decal sheet do arrive.

Thanks a lot everybody for your kind words,

I just found another mistake that has subsequently een fixed, the lettering on the front was a bit wobbly , and had been made better.

And Nuno, I remember it from the past yo were making a blue alpine, which was really coming along greatly, so you're still waiting ?

Build it ! :tongue:

@chrismag;
Please post it, if it's anywhere as perfect as your other creations... , we should be in for a treat

@p-man , towelboy ;
Actually back in the days of the alpine, the most common colour was actually yellow for the street version, and blue cae on second , which is strange, knowing this car was only famous for it's rally successes and great handling- engine package and in races was painted blue .

Thanks a lot for the kind comments .

Dude, this is without a shadow of a doubt the best looking street car I've seen. Ok I'm biased because it's one of my favorite but I don't care.

I LOVE IT!!!!

I have the same kit siting on my shelf and I cannot decide what color I should use. I wish I had 2 kits so I could make an Alpine blue one and a different color for the next.

I was leaning towards yellow but since you've done it (and it looks great) I think i will choose something else. Maybe Red mica. I have to use a light color because something too dark will make all the nice curves disapear, and that would be a crime.

I love that car so much.

Félicitation!!!

I recently seen a red one in the Renault garage, which made me regret I didn't think of that colour before... if you can wait a few days, I will go and get some reference pictures of it.

Thanks for the comment, and luckily for me, I bought a second one (just in case), but that will be used to make the Rally de Monte carlo rallycar, using the WAVE -kit , and kitbash the two.

I wish I could find another one.

And I suppose the WAVE kit is impossible to find now?

I know I saw a website that had the tamiya a110 in stock but they were charging crazy shipping, something like 25 USD for one lousy kit. I forgot the name, I'm sure someone can remind me.

Anyway. I should be thankful, at least I got ONE.
