What would i have to do to a 94 Prelude Si to beat a stock 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP?

Grand Prix GTP = about 15 sec quartermile

The kids mommy bought his car for him and he talks so much shit. His mom paid like $20,000 or something for it new.

Would a 95 integra LS be easier to get to go fast enought to beat him?

H22 would be a good starting point..

vtec are a lot more expensive than si's around here and then there is the insurance thing.

unlike him i have to pay my own way and at 17 its kind of hard

so im looking for a realativly lower priced car that has potential to go fast

so any help would be thanked

Civ with a B16 if you are worried about cheap insurance.

well the 94 si isnt a bad place to start.. i think its the h23 rite?? i dont know anything about this but i bet someone else could answer this for you.. try putting the vtec head on the h23 if possible.. that would be freakin awsome talk to crj_lll hes got a hybrid 92 lude. he can tell you how to get a 94 hybrid.. but once you choose to do that or not.. figure either forced inducation or N/A.. personally i like N/A but its harder to mess with.. more products to buy.. forced inducation you will end up with more hp but not necessarly a good idea if you want to keep the car for daily driven. if you got a manual thats alot better in your advantage and hopefully he got automatic. you could pretty easily get that thing to 200 hp.. and probably beat him (i dont know what those gtps got) and whats great about N/A you can get away with saying that the car is already fast cuz theres no turbos its all inside the engine... by the way hope you all like my new signature.. its too long to fit in the biography and im NOT bashing civics and im NOT saying all civ drivers ar ricers i said all ricers drive civs

I don't know if you heard him right, but he doesn't have much money to start with.. If he can't afford an H22, he sure as hell can't afford any forced induction system, or even the parts to put a naturally aspirated motor up to 250 HP.

In response to your sig: Typically, the only other lude drivers i see are ricers. Not so much the 5gen, but the 4gen drivers seem to have a low interest credit line set up with Uncle Ben. It's rediculous. The day I see a decent 4gen around here, is the day I will stop and shake that guys hand. I do see more nice civics than nice 4gen preludes.

cool beanz

all grand prix's are auto
they have a Supercharged V6 with 240hp
Si's have a H23

i know i cant get enough money to do a hybrid
i probally could afford a VTEC depends on how much i can sell my truck for
and i plan on upgrading about a new performance part a month so it would take me about a year or less to get the engine to the 200HP state

But my original question was which car is better in your opinion the 94 Si or the 95LS?
And what parts i would need to reach the level of beating a grand prix gtp.

I don't really know as far as mod for mod on the Si vs. LS, but you and I both know what I would rather have.

i should specify alittle better and say 5th gen cuz yea ive seen 4th gen ricers. anyways. the only civics i see around here have the big fart can mufflers and they try to race me. in my lude and 88 accord no less(of wich they hardly beat me in that either). i just turn and laugh at them and they think they beat me when they get to the next light. there arnt many 5th gens around here. everyone here is all about chevy power.. so thats probably why i havnt seen ricers in 5th gen ludes.
lemme know if the signature is any better

as far as 94 Si or 95 LS. i dont know much about the integras but my friends got a 92LS and its pretty quick (about 8-9 seconds 0-60) but i think the Si would beat it. as far as stock goes

You still give off the holier than thou aura in your sig. I'm not one to care about what people think when it comes to petty things like this, but lude owners already have the stereotype of being overly 'snobby' when it comes to what they think of themselves.

I do not like the civic that much, but the potential is great. Ever since Carol Shelby popularized the idea of a big engine in a light car (cobra), the racing world has been changed. It's no different with the civic, and you have to give it some respect for that.

the 4thgen lude has great power if tuned good but if yor gonna get a new part every month why don't you just save that and turbo and build of of that i forgot the compression of the 4th gen engine but if it's anything like the 5th gen (which it's lower i think) you can put 6 lbs with no problem :boink:

I race one of those from a roll though and left him, I was stock on my 5th gen beside my suspension so i would say, an 4th gen vtec would be enough with some minor bolt ons

Hey i noticed your post about what kind of car can you get under the money to beat ur friends gtp. In my oppinion one of the best cars you can get for the money and speed is either a 1995-1997 volvo 850 turbo, or if you want to spend a little more the s70 t-5 wich is also a turbo and really fast. I do a lot of highway driving and I was on the toll way when a gtp rolled by, he couldnt handle the boost of my s70 turbo. but if u look on ebay you could find a 1995 -97 850 turbo for around 5-7k, and i gaurantee you he will be left in the dust.
