Farewell G20

I recently read in the latest edition of Autoweek, that 2002 will be the last year for the G20. I guess they're adding...the G35 instead. It's supposed to be based on the Skyline...we'll see...:(

I would think it's good news :). Makes the car more rare when they don't produce them anymore. I personally don't like how the G35 looks.

The G35 will be much more fun than the current G20. For starters, it will have at least 260hp, more room than the BMW 3 and 5 series and will start at $30k. I'd get it if I had the dough. As for the styling, well, it's starting to grow on me. The Infiniti web site has more info and some really nice pics.

You know, I think you're right. I'm driving a future collector's item. Sweet! Ok, I guess I'm not so bummed out now....:D

Yeah, the only bad part about the new nissan sports cars is they are RWD... good for acceleration and stuff, but all the extra drivetrain stuff means more weight :( Now, if they could import, or make something very similar to the S15 chassis :D that'd be cool. but with the larger 6 cylinder motor, and the RWD drivetrain, that's gonna be a pretty heavy car. Oh well, who knows, I'll need to drive it before i can pass full judgement on the car.

I don't like the look of the G35...

I'll just keep going after "pre-owned" G20's for the rest of my driving career! *lol* j/k

I think the new car will be great from an all around performance standpoint, whether you like the styling or not. It will offer everything a G20 owner could ever hope for, without moving into a larger class car. The only drawback in my mind, is that you have to know this car will retail for at least 30K. You might not even be able to close a deal under that...likely putting it somewhat out of reach for many people that bought into an Infiniti in the first place.
It will be perhaps a bargin still, when compared to others in it's intended class...but if it does have this negative impact, and until the resale of an Infiniti reaches that of BMW and Lexus etc..it might not achive the sales quotas necessary to be sucessful in creating a market of tradeup Infiniti buyers in the future. This is one reason I felt Infiniti had reintroduced the G20 back to the market to begin with.

I've been in love with this car since I they came out when I turned 11 and I finally bought my first a '91 G when I was 17. I bought my second G a '93.5 when I turned 19. I now am 21 and I want a '99 "T" but its outta my reach due to the price and I'm definately gonna want a G35 next year so I guess Im gonna have to watch the movie BANDITS a few more times. Cause I'm gonna have to rob a bank to get me the NEW G
