Why only 4 speed?

I have a 91 hatch and I was under the impression that it was a 5 speed. Afeter going through the gears i foud it wasn't. What models came with a 5 speed. Mine is a 91 i don't know what model cuz it was hit in the ass when i bought it so no hatch on it.

you have what is called a STD (standard) model. if you wanted the 5 speed you would need a DX or SI :biggrin:
i have been driving the STD we just picked up. i actually like the tranny because the gears are so long. don't get me wrong....i LOVE my si. but, sometimes i :swear: when i get stuck behind an old person in an AT doing 28 in a 35. tranny wasn't ment to chill like that where the std tranny is geared for daily driving in traffic all day long :bigthumb:
