Project Supra

Yesterday I went out and bought a Tamiya Toyota Supra kit. So far all I have done is sanded down the car a bit and washed it up. Right now its drying. On monday I will put the primer coat on the car.

And I have some ideas for paint but Im not sure how they will look. And remember I am doing a brush job for the paint.

Idea 1. Yellow body with a Black stripe over the hood scoop on the right side of the car. With a Black and Yellow seats.

Idea 2. Black body with Red stripe over the hood scoop ont he right side of the car. Black seats with Red inserts.

Idea 3. Red body with Black stripe over the hood scoop on the right side. Black seats with red inserts.

Well tell me what you think about my ideas for paint. And what would be a better idea.

And I would like to put pics in this thread after I get the car painted but I still have 23 pics to take on this roll of film. So the pics wont be up for a while.

So whats wrong with a stripe on a supra? I have seen one running around here with one and I thought it looked tight.

Well what about a black carbonfiber looking hood on it?

A better idea would be to buy a couple Duplicolor spray cans instead of brush painting it.

alright now...brush paint...few weeks to develop pics...i'd say you invest a few more bucks into your hobby! I used Tamiya Candy Lime Green on my stock Tamiya Supra, it is still my fav model!

Well I thought it over a bit and their will not be a stripe.

But with getting pics im kind of slow. I already have a few pics of it on my camera but well the roll is not full yet. And with me it can take days before I think to take the film to get developed.

If you have the money, you might want to consider getting a digital camera. A decent one can be had for between $200-$300. In the long run, a digital camera will be more convenient and less costly than a film camera (assuming you have one that doesn't eat up batteries like crazy). I think there is a thread in the main modelling forum about digital cameras right now so check it out.

When I have the money I'm going to buy a Nikon D100. I have had my eye on it for awhile now. Right now I have a N65 and I'm going to buy a N80. I do a lot of photography for my neighbors and relatives and ocassionaly a picture or two for the newspaper. But I will have a digi-camera soon enough.

I have a bunch of hobies. I am first and foremost a Piano/Sax/Guitar player. I Mt. bike. And I do photography(mostley flowers or what ever some one wants me to take a picture of.) The ohter day I dident have anything to do so I said I should build a model.

Cool, photography is a hobby of mine too though I don't get much time and $$ for it. I got a Nikon N60 and a Olympus C-730. By the way, save the money you are going to spend on the N80 and you are closer to getting a D100. Either way, you will be getting a good camera.

Sorry to the moderators for going OT.
