It's real. I've read the British articles that say it took them 604 or so takes to get it right.
As for the wheel going up the ramp, they carefully and strategically placed weights inside the tire to make it lurch forward when hit.

If Honda has so much money to waste, why not just give ME an NSX and be done with it?!?!

First off, don't delude yourself. That is probably cheap for a car commercial. Big companies like Honda budget tens of millions annually just for advertising.
I also am studying programming at a school that also has a course for graphic designers. A clip like that on CG will not by any cheaper, or easier to make.
Riddle me this: why would they need to place a switch for the Accord to hit to open the banner? For effect?
