Ive been seeing alot of infomercials for this Tornado thing, that goes in the intake and supposedly gives you 15 more hp. Anyone have/know anyone with one?? Are they worth a damn??

Save your $$$ and buy a K&N replacement filter or an aftermarket air intake system.

I never heard a good thing about that thing

do a search here on AF for it & see what comes up

Don't believe everything you see on TV. You can fine a lab to subport anything you need.
If you PEE in your oil, you will get 1.5 more miles per gallon. PLEASE>!!!!
don't waste your $$$$$. But, then again, I'm no "A" class mechanic.

This thread died 4 months ago - - - If your that interested in the Tornado, get yourself an aluminum can & make your own. Just be sure its secured so it doesn't or a part of it, get sucked into the engine.

An independent test by Car and Driver on a closed course found absolutely no increase in fuel economy, and a dyno found no change in power. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
Waste of money.

I cant remember now, and my back issues are back home (Im at uni).
I do remember that they used it when they did a long term wrapup of a BMW, I think it was probably a 5 series....It was for their baubles and bolt ons part of the review.

I remember the article because I had seen an infomercial (one of the 30minute ones) just before.

hey all, I've got a beater car for the winter, it's a 1.9l ford 95 escort nothing great. I used to work for a well marketed mail order firm out of ohio. for an employee discount I paid cost on everything. what I've found is that for the smaller the engine the more in HP this product does work. I was skeptical about it at first but I figured $20 (that's at cost) wasn't anything big to waste. so I tried it out. using a stock filter and that product I actually saw a significant increase in hp. however starting out with only 88 to begin with a 5 hp increase is a 9% or so gain. with moderate engines there's not a big difference and with larger engines you'll pick up like 1 mpg. but think about it 1 mpg on a f350 v-10 is like a 10% increase. I think the statements they made about the product are a little inflated but it's a great product for various cars with nothing available for them. I'm sure combined with a K&N drop in is all you can do to some beaters. however if you already have a conical filter I wouldn't waste the time.
