Anyone know who came to the event in a McLaren? The number plate seems to make a reference to Peter Wheeler, but I don't think he has one. Perhaps he does, or perhaps it's a mark of respect, or just a coincidence. Peloton, I am almost scared you know the answer!

on first thought, i thought it wasn't the T&C car. I've seen it. it's hard to recognize the interior, because that'd be a great help. When I was there, the number plate were on the car. And i seem to recognize the plate. I have to check the photos again, and sadly i'm not in the position to do that. But it appears to be the Taylor & Crawley car. so probably 047 or 045.

I'm with everyone else - its got to be the Taylor&Crawley car which leads me to believe that David Clark may have been the driver. The car could be on consignment at Taylor&Crawley, so maybe the actual owner was the one who brought it out.
#002 - the gray F1 road car with the HDF pkg and red door stripe - was also supposedly spotted in the parking lot at Goodwood. I'm surprised I haven't seen it in anyone's photos yet though.

What are you saying 'nope' to??
Often when cars (or anything for that matter) are sold on consignment, they are left at the place that is selling them. I have no doubt it was there when both you and mini_magic visted there. How can you be certain though, that car is owned by Taylor & Crawley and not a private customer who might not want to be involved in the sale?
I was just suggesting outside of any Taylor & Crawley personnel, the only other likely possibility was that the vehicle's actual owner may have brought the car to Goodwood. There's a better chance that the car was brought by Mr Clark of course, especially since they were also displaying Steve O'Rourke's F1 GTR as well, but what I'm suggesting is also a possibility.

Mini magic,
that's a load of bull. Salespeople say all sorts of things. Would you take a million dollar car for everyday errands if it didn't belong to you? I am sure they take it for publicity events, servicing, and to show to prospective owners. But that's it.

Again you have quoted my entire post and put in your one or two lines. Why do you keep doing this? It's ANNOYING. Can you please go back and delete the quoted parts from your posts in this thread? It's easy to follow the conversation without you having to quote everything. And it's common courtesy.
Instead of clicking on Quote, click on the Post Reply button right below it. That won't insert the quote for you.

You're saying that as if it's a bad thing...! :bigthumb:
I am just wondering which rest-stop along the way invited gerd for the McLaren gathering...lol!
Maybe he'll make a grand entrance like Johnny English did when he climbed up the tunnel into the castle (he climbs up a sewer pipe and is dripping in err, ahem, human waste, by the time he pokes his head up through a toilet)!
