Where to go for major service?

I need to go in for the 30,000 mile service of my 2000 Accord. The authorized dealer in my area (AutoWest Honda, Fremont, CA) charges around 400 bucks for the service, whereas other non-authorized dealers charge as little as 150. Is it worth going to the authorized dealer? Do the autorized dealers do something extra that the non-authorized ones don't? Or is it just a rip off? Any suggestions for a good Honda service center in the Bay Area?
Thanks,
Awaara

30000 miles is not major. thats actually ittie bittie things. like tranny change, filter change. air filter, checking spark plug (no need to change them). oil change, brake fluid check and so on.
i think really at 30k you dont need to take it in. the car is still good just change up some tranny fluid and some normal stuff, inspect hoses and crap and flush the cooling system.

30,000 mile service IS a major service
The reason why the dealer cost more is due to the factory trained techs who deal with hondas all day & every day.
Pick-up a maint. check-up list from the dealer & take that to where ever you get your service done so you can have the same service done.
V6 does not need valve adjustment or spark plugs(platinum good for 100K)
Cap/rotor is not included but probably will need changing, this should be inspected during the 30k service.

I agree....30k is pretty major, if you care about your car, but I don't know about 400 bones for the service @ 30k. Yea, Honda techs know their shit, and they are certified. But I would just take it somewhere cheaper for the 30k. Save that money for a major problem, then take it to Honda, because you know they are going to use all real Honda parts and not some used aftermarket shit.
