ok, my friend has a GSR, 99 i think, or 2000. anywho... him and i were wondering if we went to a junkyard and pulled a turbo out an old ?car? what would we need, if it is even possible, to make the setup complete (and preferrably functional). and if in fact it was possible, what would be a good car to pull the turbo from??? if this was a srtupid question, ust flame me and call me a newbie... if not, any help would be appreciated.

i dont remember the code for the turbo itself but get a turbo off an older eclipse.. its most definitely possible. im not much of a turbo guru but you'd need a turbo manifold, blow off valve, wastegate, innercooler (not absolutely necessary, but for higher boost you'd need it), oil cooler, larger oil pan, preferably higher flow injectors

you should also get a larger downpipe and wider exhaust piping. and if you want to run higher boost you'll want low compression pistons

someone correct me if im wrong with ^^^... i dont know a whole lot about turbos

Older Eclipse turbo would be a 14b.

It might be cheaper buying a kit then trying to piece together one from a junk yard...and ur friend's car is fairly new u might not want to put old beatup parts in it

Fonz welcome to the site

you'll need a turbo manifold, turbo, downpipe, wastegate, BOV, intercooler, piping, fuel management, oil lines, some sort of boost controller(maual or elec.), amungst many other things, but if you really want to do it right then get a kit, it'll have everything you need. and you dont have to worry about messing anything up.:thinkerg:
