Regarding Strut Tower Bars

I recently installed a front strut bar but what I'm not sure about is how tight the bar should be?? Once I had it installed I heard a knocking noise which came from the bar touching the engine slightly and the vibration of the engine was hitting the bar causing the noise. I was wondering if the bar needs to be tighter so that even with the vibration it doesnt cause any noise or does the bar need to be higher so it is clear from the engine??
I tried to install the rear bars and I looked everywhere in the trunk and behind the rear seat for bolts where the rear strut would go, anyone have any ideas??

The front bar should have enough clearance that it does not hit the engine. The brackets are angled a little so after you install it the right way it ends up level. There isn't really any height adjustability. If it doesn't fit right then you probably installed it wrong or it's not the right one for your application.
The rear should be accessible by removing the interior trim pieces.

You're gonna have the same problems with any 13 year old car. Why throw away all the work you've done just for a whole new set of the same problems? Unless you plan to get a new (under-warranty) car you should keep it. Look at it this way, you've already fixed a lot of the problems so you will have less to do in the coming years...

ooo
the bastards at procare TOLD me my tie bar was broke, and said it'd be $460 to fix it. LIARS. it's just a tie bar "end"... picked one up for $23 at murray's.
i'm only going there again if i know exactly whats wrong with it, then have them do it. they said i need a tie bar, new strut brackets, and an alignment. i could do the tie bar end myself for $23.
im just getting p'oed at this car. i was looking at some new mini cooper's but it would be just too much since i'd have to have full insurance. i just thought this thing would cost me another $500. but it was nothing major

almost forgot....
Tein HE coilovers
TRUST front strut bar(regarding the previous post, the Trust was for a car with an SR, so the bar sits low, thanks to the Teins longer strut top bolts, I was able to put washers between the bar and tower to give it some spacing, or it would have sat right on the valve cover)
Ijen intake made from two 95+ 240 intakes
MSD inigtion and blaster coil with tach adapter (TA is needed for 89-90 240s)
Just did the clutch
A/F guage because had troble with backfiring before, but no more.
Rear upper camber arms
Rear subframe spacers made from big 'ol washer (cut by me)
S13 front end
just installed turbo timer (SR is coming soon) custom cut and integrated into dash and wired to work with the alarm (I can arm the alarm while the timer is on)
VLSD upgrade from NONE
got rid of AIRCV the air recycle valve thing..heats up intake air (welded the header extension close
bypassed coolant in throttle body (also to lower intake temps)
new and balanced Venom injectors (stock size) also was part of backfiring prob
integrated s14 air temp sensor infront of mass
the little things...
gutted trunk
Greddy radiator cap
magnetic oil plug (3 bucks at Kragen, look for it guys, its great)
NGK blue wires (the best spark plug wires period)
alpine deck w/ infinity components (5.25) and infinity 4x6 speakers
hks filter
razo pedals
there's more, just can't remember
and yes, all of this was done by me!
