there's at least 3 ways i can think of off the top of my head, all which cost different amounts.

do you want to turbo the ls motor?
make an ls-vtec?
swap for gs-r and build that NA?
turbo a gs-r motor?
get a b18c5 type r motor?
turbo a type r motor?
swap an h22 or h23?
turbo the h22 or h23?

hmm...

they all cost different amounts.

Actually the LS-vtec engine would be better suited to handle more boost since it has a lower compression ratio compared to the gs-r motor. I wouldn't even want to think about adding a turbo the the type-r with that compression without adding a headgasket but then that opens up a new can or worms.

Before my 94 teg LS raced a wall and lost (I wasn't driving) that was the route I was gonna take.

My suggestion is just simply a turbo b18a/b, or a turbo b18c, with a turbo b18a/b as my preference.

There's a few people down in Houston that are running low 11's to mid/low ten's with just a turbo LS.

Don't let anybody fool you. To get that fast, turbo is still cheaper than all-motor.

u should put this in the HONDA forums, this should b in the HONDA forums. I think u should jus get a Type-R motor (B18c) and turbo charge it.

ls turbo is the way to go with honda

if you have money and you want to see how deep your pockets go why not go with a h22a turbo:eek: yes i said H22A TURBO:eek:

or give up on honda and get a eclipse gsx or talon tsi and spend 5's and do 11's

eheh

How about a b20/vtec on a little bit of juice? Thats should be relatively cheap.

If you're doing the work yourself. Paying somebody else to do it gets expensive, especially since the only way to make that set-up effective, is by changing rods/pistons.

Did I mention some of those 11-second LSs are running stock internals? They have lower compression and can handle the boost (to a limit). It's the higher revs that they can't handle.

Have you tried ebay? I'm sure there are several stolen engines with ake vin codes on there for cheap. You could stop by a salvage yard. No matter what it is not gonna be cheap to make that teg go into the low 13's, or high 12's. Of course driving will play a major factor in it as well. Remember to never neglect the suspension. All the go fast parts in the world won't help you get better times, if your car can't hook.

I really don't think TypeR motor is worth it, I would go for the GSR if I were to go the swap route, use the extra money for IHE and I'm pretty sure that can beat a b18c5 already.

Frankensteins.. I don't know... I've heard some reliability problems with them. But they should be OK if done properly.

carrrnuttt: Are those 10-11's LS's even streetable? I would imagine them to be using some pretty big turbo's and great lag =\

So just slap a massive turbo on an LS motor and you're running 11's? Gotta be more to it than that...

Bigger injectors, stronger fuel pump, and a VERY good engine management system, appropriate plugs/ignition system and/or good ECU tune, among other things.

I said stock internals. :thefinger
