Here's the new, fifth generation Astra. It has technological highlights such as adaptive suspension and adaptive headlights.

Initially five petrol and three turbo diesel engines will be available - 1.4 to 2.0 litre with power in the 80-200 hp range. A 200 bhp version will be released in 2005, and all of the engines will be matched to a standard new six-speed manual gearbox.

The three-door model goes on sale next spring and will be revealed at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in September. The five-door model will be followed later by the estate and three-door versions, and prices will be announced closer to on-sale date.

Ya' know...I just wish they would sell some of these rides over here in the US...
Not exactly sure why...taste and import/export laws perhaps...but I still wish...

why don't you just buy one of the new holdens.
theirs a real power house due to be realeased with 350bhp and even more than that in tourque.
the shape of the new astra is horrible and the 200hp version is yet to be confirmed but likley to be made as a turbo, meaning that the 12year old C20XE 157hp N/A 2ltr 16v engine would be a more reliable and faster engine, due to it being without lag and a whole load lighter than the current Z20LET which is vauxhalls (opel) 2ltr turbo.
