Found this on Yahoo Auctions...it's temptingly cheap. Do they do anything?

The only thing that does is make me laugh.
Your intake manifold probably pulls in air faster then that little electric FAN could even blow it through to intake tube. (in otherwords, it could be bad for your car) but is most deffinately useless waist of money.

These electric turbos/supercharges work *but* the catch is that they pull a lot of power from your engine. They need a 500 watt power inverterto run them. Sooo, you'll be making power but taking power at the same time.

Sooo...whats the point

The one I saw said it ran off 12 volts, 2.7 amps from the battery.

Hey, Tanked.
4thgenhatch is just playing with you. Do a search on Tornado and bogus turbo to read other witty and hilarious comments written by members of this forum.
If they worked, we'd all already have them, just like cold air intakes, headers, and strut bars.

PS-There are reasons superchargers cost thousands of dollars, turbochargers cost hundreds of dollars, and other performance items cost big bucks: the vast majority of the time, you get what you pay for.
